  1. Before I continue... can I confirm that you are not, in fact, saying that Matz is having a better August than Ray?
  2. Just a note on Robbie Ray - Ray set a new MLB record for the most strikeouts through the first 1,000 innings of a pitcher's career (1,241), overtaking the previous high of 1,222 that belonged to Yu Darvish. This guy is getting more expensive to re-sign by the day.
  3. 80 grade hair. Last 2 starts he's struck out 17 per 9 and averaging 12 K per 9 on the season at AAA. Yeah, i'd say he might be due for a look. Came up through the Rays system and he was the centerpiece of the Cruz trade.
  4. Yeah, he was definitely projecting a bit there
  5. He’s such a weird guy to watch, The fastball and curve are both very high spinning offerings that get swings and misses and you can just see that he’s one adjustment away from being f***ing legit. The problem is nobody on earth knows what that adjustment needs to be.
  6. Hope Vlad goes on a tear to close out the season. Dude can carry a team for weeks with his bat
  7. Ray is definitely getting paid, and quite honestly I hope the Jays are the ones to do it.
  8. Vlad has the three hardest balls in the game so far, and of the three, the weakest was a groundout that had the same exit velocity as Mountcastle’s HR. Ray had 20 swinging strikes.
  9. Nah, they're closed up tight with COVID, just working.
  10. That was a beautiful thing. Ray made that dude look really bad
  11. It's all good. Springer will get it back on the 1st pitch if it's in the zone. Almost...
  12. With Dickerson and Dyson starting (both lefties against the RH starter) there's no room for Gurriel in the OF with Springer DHing. Looks like Chuck is putting Dickerson and Gurriel into a LF platoon situation.
  13. How so? Theyre 1 game better than the jays and have virtually the same scenario, just with 1 less team to catch. yes, I would agree the Mariner's making it is more likely than the Jays making it simply because they're already ahead, but either team making it is unlikely.
  14. It's possible, it's just not likely. So much would have to go right for the Jays to make the playoffs that it's just not a likely outcome. It's not even about the Jays possibly shooting themselves in the foot in a game, it's the fact that 3 or 4 more teams would all have to go .500 or worse while the Jays win 2 out of every 3 for the rest of the season. Could the Jays win 2 out of 3 the rest of the way? Sure, but will 4 solid teams suddenly all go .500 or worse a the same time? Nope.
  15. Espinal as the pinch hitter….what in the actual f***
  16. f*** that. gurriel will walk and Palacios will hit a 2 run Jack. Said nobody….ever.
  17. Offence, just not recently
  18. The Tigers are about to….
  19. Wow, bloop single into a HR….how is this real?
  20. Im confused by that pitch sequencing. You just saw him have the worst swing imaginable on a fastball up and in that he barely got wood on and was horribly late, and you throw a curveball next when still 1-2. Why not go a bit further up and in and see if he chases again? Seems obvious he was sitting soft.
  21. I applaud Vlad's weight loss in the last offseason, I hope he keeps up the trend and drops another 20 or so in this upcoming offseason. I have little doubt that fatigue is starting to creep into his game.
  22. Glad to see Grichuk sitting, not excited to see his replacement is Palacios... but then again.. no other options at this time.
  23. Palacios would be the only one that makes sense. He's about as nothing-burger as it gets and is pretty much the same profile as Dyson, speedy defensive CF who should never start a ball game.
