  1. It's pretty cool they actually had to send someone down twice this week that didn't really deserve it. BUt it also sucks at the same time.
  2. You're not gonna like who leads MLB in reliever wild pitches then. Seranthony Dominguez with 11.
  3. Felix Bautista getting shoulder surgery - out for the next year, likely not back till 2027. - Torn rotator cuff and torn labrum.
  4. He doesn't really pay for the walks though... nobody hits HRs against him, everything is either a whiff, a ground ball, or in the dirt. That said, I certainly wouldn't be calling his number with the bases loaded.
  5. NL West Teams would literally die from travel. The thing with geographic realignment is not to make travel within the division as small as possible, it's to ensure all teams travel at least somewhat kinda close to each other. Extremely challenging with so many teams in the central and east vs mountain and west.
  6. I think Manoah is a 2026 thing. The chance of him being relevant to the Jays this season is just so small it's probably not worth considering.
  7. His power has just vaporized. Interestingly, even though he can't seem to hit for power, his walk rate is up over last season, babip is comically low at .224 though that's probably partially explained by the increase in fly ball rate. Could be some positive regression coming?
  8. I mean... the team is far from a dumpster fire. But the second half of your statement is true. Just felt like the team was off-balance this whole series. Even the win felt... off.
  9. embarrasing effort from the sticks in this series, but oh well. On to the next.
  10. ******** call on the 2nd strike... but Barger should have hammered that cookie.
  11. Still.. shouldnt that show me pitch be ... shown? I know it's not a great pitch for him but eventually the slider/curve combo all from 83-88 won't play. It's one thing to baffle these sub .600 OPS hitters sure, but I struggle to see how that's gonna play against better hitters unless he shows that fastball a bit more.
  12. Sometimes I dont understand the pitch calling. Fisher throws 97mph heat... yet here we are 9 pitches in and he's thrown nothing but sliders and curveballs all within 5 MPH of each other. Granted they've been pretty filthy
  13. LOL, that pitch barely missed the zone and it hit him?
  14. I'm both going to miss...and not miss Bassitt next season.
  15. Amazing how Vlad's lack of presence just makes the lineup look rather pedestrian. Oviedo is throwing well today though, so cant take that away from him
  16. Couple that with Lauer already past what he threw all of last season and could be wearing out, a move to the pen makes all kinds of sense. Recency bias is something fanbases just need to let go of.
  17. finally? Dude dominated last year in AA and AAA, clear argument could have been made for him to start the year up with the big club. So now, they get his feet wet for the rest of this season, and have him up with the big club next season to try and get that extra ROY pick. Amazing how that incentive was meant to convince teams to bring guys up sooner, but seems to just have them held down longer.
  18. "As a Tommy John recoveree, he has some additional leeway. The Blue Jays can extend his rehab assignment in 10-day increments up to a maximum of 60 days." This is not something I was aware of. Cool to know. Edit: Checked the CBA, the Player also has to consent to extend the rehab stint. "Notwithstanding the foregoing, a Player rehabbing from UCL reconstruction surgery may consent to up to three consecutive ten-day extensions of his rehabilitation assignment, with the approval of the Commissioner’s Office and the Association."
  19. Juan Sanchez 2-3 with a HR and walk again today. Kid is killing the DSL right now I really don't know what to make of Coronado right now... has an OBP over .500, more than twice as many walks as Ks, but no HRs and only 6 extra base hits out of his 65 total hits. What's that old saying about not being able to walk off the island? Looks like he's really trying to buck that trend.
  20. Perhaps. His overall power hasn't really been the problem, he's just forgotten how to take a walk. OBP of like .290 since early July.
  21. Yeah for sure. Just he's been scuffling the last full month now, with around a .700 OPS over that time period. Need to get back to where he was.
  22. So Jays brass loves splitters and knuckle-curves, Pittsburgh appears to adore cutters and sweepers.
  23. holy god ump... that was like a foot outside lol
