  1. Glasgow’s surgery was early August 2021, so more than a year ago. Surgery today for Buehler means he likely isn’t back on a major league mound on this same date next season. Therefore , most of the 2023 season will be over which he will have missed.
  2. Arroyo with some impressive takes on those 2 strike changeups, damn
  3. That’s such a bad decision by Refsnyder to dive for that ball. Lolo
  4. Walker Buehler's elbow surgery now confirmed to be Tommy John procedure, performed today. Definitely done for most of the 2023 season
  5. I dont think it's a swing change issue, his swing looks laregly the same. I think he's getting fewer, and therefore swigning at fewer pitches that are condusive to his particualr swing path creating the punishing fly balls. He'll still crush mistakes of course, but pitchers know they can't live up in the zone with him. It's gotta be down and preferably down and away
  6. With Vlad's talent, a 155 wRC+ should be his floor. When he gets the LA right, we're looking at 190 or higher.
  7. It's just that high back then was 5.5 million per year.
  8. If there was a guy I would want to sit, fish and drink with and just talk baseball for days at a time... it would be John Gibbons.
  9. Joe Carter was the 6th highest paid player in baseball in 1993 and the 3rd highest in 1994. Its always about money And yes i know your post was probably in jest, I just wonder how many people actually realized how highly paid Carter was compared to other players who were demonstrably better and worth way more more money than he was. Barry Bonds for example made less than Joe Carter.
  10. I like a good beer batter all year round, but especially in the playoffs. Whether its around a nice piece of fish or some excellent shrimp, beer batter is always the way to go. Never lets you down in the clutch
  11. It's the ultimate irony of Stroman's ******** lines he's always spewing about "say what you want, it just fuels me..." blah blah blah, then blocks anyone who says anything even remotely negative. He probably just blocked Gibby thinking it wasn't the real one, or knew it was the real one and did it as a joke. I doubt Stroman has any hate on for Gibby. Who could possibly hate John Gibbons?
  12. Yeah, people seem to think i'm concerned with the K rate... which I am, but the K rate is probably an easier fix than the other concerning aspects of his game. Like, sure, fixing the K rate but not fixing the launch angle issue gives a few more HRs per year, but not very much else. To be a great hitter, you have to be doing something productive when youre not hitting HRs or taking walks. Right now, he's not doing a whole lot in the PAs that dont get those 2 results. Comparing his #'s Miguel Sano is easy, since they are both were 20 at AA, and very similar hitters with massive power and big K numbers. But if you look at Sano's other numbers (LD rate, IFFB rate, WRC+) from when he was in AA to what Orelvis is doing now, it's not flattering for Orelvis. Doesnt mean it cant be fixed of course, but personally, I'm not as optimistic as many seem to be.
  13. Take it easy, he used a capital 2.
  14. You don’t know they have nobody preaching patience, don’t make things up. Stick with the bad plate appearances opinion, at least its demonstrably true in this last half inning.
  15. Another bad PA, why swing at the ball outside followed by the inside one….which one was he looking for? He’s gotta stop trying to hit everything. Look for a location and stick to it until you get two strikes both he and a Gurriel got themselves out without seeing a pitch in the zone.
  16. Well, good hustle to stay out of the DP, but the bat shoulda been on the shoulder until 2 strikes. Let’s go Vlad, do something useful
  17. Cmon LG, put a dagger in this bitch
  18. Damn, the one time windmill Rivera throws up the stop sign and the throw was….awful
  19. If Manoah ever hits someone intentionally he’d probably rush the batters box right after.
  20. Yeah getting it tied up at least would be nice
  21. Yeah, cuz Manoah definitely threw intentionally at a guy he’s made look foolish every time today on a game where the Jays are behind 2-1. Sit the f*** down Cole, you’re just pissed because you sucked yesterday.
  22. Scroll back a bit, apparently not being over the moon with Martinez is a sin.
  23. I like Cortes stuff though, he throws the kitchen sink so you can’t really sit on a pitch, good enough command to throw strikes with everything and just enough fastball that you can’t sit soft and just adjust to the heater.
  24. The way Cortes is reacting it’s like they all just expect anything even remotely close to be a strike.
  25. I feel good about CHappy here
