  1. Wow this ump sucks at calling sliders low…lol, that was the same pitch he called way early in the game against the Jays
  2. Wasnt a terrible call, could have gone either way Pitch #2 above was also called a strike.
  3. And they're all late on his fastball tonight, just still getting good contact out of it
  4. It's easy to get fooled when they pound it into the ground and the defense is positioned perfectly. But, you're right in that he hasn't had a lot of hard contact so far this season. only 11% hard hit rate.
  5. That old stat is not really all that indicative of anything special. Scoring runs with 0 outs and 1 outs are just as important as with 2 outs. It's just another one of those things that drives narratives and stories about baseball but really dont mean anything to the game itself.
  6. Ah, i took what Grant was saying as in there's been no shape changes. I maybe misunderstood.
  7. Just please let this kid stay healthy and not break before he gives us at least 6+ years of amazing service time...
  8. Maybe he got what Jansen had? Damn, hope its quick, we really want his bat and glove in there against the Rays
  9. yeah, I mean all we can do is speculate based on the limited public data we have, but if the shape and velo of both pitches are about the same as previous years, and the only thing we know is different is the usage of the slider being increased and the sinker decreased... the only logical deduction is that the change is useage is making the batters wait just a split second more before they decide what to do which is definitely advantageous to the pitcher.
  10. Might be tunneling better too, anything on his sinker different than previous?
  11. Probably a scheduled day off. No mention anywhere in the twitter-verse about anything relating to an injury. Coming off his hip surgery they'll surely have some built in rest days to get him off the turf.
  12. April 13 Vladdy - 1 Point Bichette - 1 Point - Deadpool Chapman - 1 Point Varsho - 2 Points - jaysblue, Stangstag Springer - 2 Points - JaysAllMighty Belt - 3 Points - JohnHavok Kirk - 3 Points Biggio - 4 Points -TheHurl, Spanky Merrifield - 5 Points Off the bench: 10 Points
  13. Did Beltre or Pinto ever happen to stand right beside Peyton Williams?
  14. Why wait till the off-season, hire his ass as a roving pitching coach or special assistant to Pete Walker or whatever title they want to give him and get him in there now.
  15. Come on Jansen, if nothing else just to throw in the face of that f***ing moron board troll
  16. It was never really in question. Manoah had great results last year and i think he has better stuff in him, but Gausman has a truly elite pitch in that splitter/change and when youve got that kind of weapon for swing and miss, it's a real treat to watch. I love Manoah's demeanor, but he does not have the same calibre of stuff. I think he just needs to get back to going full speed right out of the gate instead of trying to nibble with 91-92 and dial it up later. Just bring your A game right from the first pitch and go as long as you can. He has a really great extension on his delivery, so him slowing his velo down negates some of that advantage. That, and he needs to get his slider back to being controllable, it was never even close last night.
  17. f***ing Tampa man... Up 3-0, their rookie pitcher callup with 5 Ks over 3 no hit innings, just 1 walk so far.
  18. Yeah I can;t watch it SN Now either, just a big blue background after logging in, and Im not even using the app, just the web page login.
