    Here’s a disgusting stat from Chapman so far this season. He’s off to an unreal start to the season but it could be even better. So far, he has 4 balls hit over 400 feet that have gone for outs. In 2022 the MLB leader in 400+ foot outs over the entire season….had 4.

    Clveinger has bascially morphed into 60% fastball 30% sliders, and doesnt miss many bats, so could be a tee-off night

    It just feels like Springer is due, he's been hitting rockets, just had a day off, should be fresh for at least 2 bombs.

    Yeah, the power sinker profile is more contact oriented. It's just not much of a swing and miss pitch, so for that to be a dominant offering as a reliever, you're basically at the whim of the babip gods and uppercut swing hitters. That's not to say that they can't be usefull and cant get swings and misses, because they can, just not reliably. They might go one outing where they get 5 whiffs on 10 pitches to 3 hitters total, then not get another whiff for the next 10 hitters and give up 4 hits, 1 of which is a HR. Some would say that could happen to any pitcher... well, yeah I guess, but when you miss bats consistently, you're far less susceptible to batted ball variance.

    Heh, well, the numbers back it up. He called it a sweeper but it's really his curveball and his curve is getting shelled this year to the tune of a .917 SLG and .563 wOBA. That's probably some kind of bad luck for sure, but still, maybe back off that pitch for a bit.
