It was never really in question. Manoah had great results last year and i think he has better stuff in him, but Gausman has a truly elite pitch in that splitter/change and when youve got that kind of weapon for swing and miss, it's a real treat to watch.
I love Manoah's demeanor, but he does not have the same calibre of stuff. I think he just needs to get back to going full speed right out of the gate instead of trying to nibble with 91-92 and dial it up later. Just bring your A game right from the first pitch and go as long as you can. He has a really great extension on his delivery, so him slowing his velo down negates some of that advantage.
That, and he needs to get his slider back to being controllable, it was never even close last night.
