  1. Piss poor effort by Vlad. Gets a hanging breaking ball and still ends up going the other way. That should been murdered into the LF stands What a moronic approach he has right now.
  2. No doubt, the differing levels in his options are actually kinda nuts. If they retain Hicks and bring back Romano who will definitely be inline for a decent raise, they could be looking at 3 pen arms earning between 7-10 million each. For that reason alone it’s almost a guarantee that Hicks is not retained unless they get him at a big discount.
  3. Just gotta stay up the middle. Why pull the ball? Those 400ft CF flies turning into long outs are the best evidence we can see of a solid plate approach. What’s the upside of hitting 400 foot flies towards LF anyways…
  4. I would change that last word to “potentially an all time great” . He’s already good.
  5. It’s actually one of the most resurgent cities in the US. It used to have a well deserved reputation for being a shithole, but in the past 10ish years it’s been a real dramatic turnaround. It’s almost vibrant
  6. Whatever. Greatest org in the history of baseball.
  7. Yeah probably, though they’re far enough back they probably don’t make the postseason. It’s too bad, he’d be a damn good bench piece on a playoff team
  8. I could be wrong here but when a player gets placed on release waivers, all teams have two days to place a claim. Then the claim is just awarded to the lowest ranked team that claimed him. So it’s possible they made a claim but just didn’t get him. Interestingly though, Laureano could choose to refuse the claim and try his luck in free agency. Doubt he does that
  9. Was gonna post about this guy the other day. He was international FA from 2022 who signed for 10,000 out of Nicaragua. He’s 19
  10. Unfortunately it’s been designated a historical monument so some s*** so it can never be demolished. They would actually have to build a new park elsewhere to get out of that dump.
  11. Also f*** Fenway and its ******** walls. There’s no reason a guy should make a basic jump against a wall in an MLB stadium and have his arm ripped open. Blow the f***ing park up and build a real stadium
  12. Probably not quite the final nail in Boston’s postseason coffin, but gotta be close to it
  13. It could be a factor, but he’s still hitting the ball as hard as ever. He’s just not swinging at the right pitches with any consistency and still has this goofy inside out everything approach. Vlads problems are 100% between the ears.
  14. Pretty underwhelming deadline for them though. I guess we’ll see what happens in the off-season as to how they plan to make additions
  15. Robin Ventura is the happiest guy about the whole situation, now he might be relegated to #2 on the White Sox player who got embarrassed on a fight
  16. I didn’t know of any of the previous issues he had with Anderson about hard tags and stuff but when I watched the play I thought to myself Ramirez was probably just mad about Anderson’s glove flying past and just missing his face, kinda thought it was a weak excuse to get up and start yelling but now knowing the previous story, I could see how that was just the straw that broke the camels back in JRams brain.
  17. I think it would be the typical process, any team that wants him would put a claim in and the lowest ranked team that put a claim in would get him and assume his remaining salary. If he clears waivers then yeah free agent and the signing team would only be on the hook for the prorated minimum, athletics respnsible for the rest.
  18. Saw that too, his default position is just waving guys in lol
  19. Looking at the roster as is…it would probably be Espinal that would be the odd man out in a hypothetical Laureano pickup. With DeJong here being the superior glove and Biggio being left handed and still capable enough to play several positions in a pinch, my guess would be Espinal hitting the bricks. That would leave a bench / rotation of DeJong, Varsho/Laureano/KK, Biggio and the Kirk/Jansen tandem. It doesn’t suck
  20. Unfortunately that 80 grade hit tool is paired with a 20 grade decision making tool.
  21. Double points Saturday Vladdy - 2 Point - Springer - 4 Points - Bones10 DeJong - 6 Points - Belt - 6 Points - Dylan Chapman - 6 Points - Jansen - 6 Points - JohnHavok Varsho - 8 Points - JaysAllMighty Merrifield - 10 Points - Schneider - 16 Points - Jonn, jaysblue, LTBF Off the bench: 20 Points -
  22. He’ll be great just in time for the Royals to trade him to an org that isn’t an embarrassment, because they won’t want to pay him
  23. So you’re the f***in reason the board keeps getting spammed with bots trying to sell everyone condos on Bali! I knew it…
  24. The baseball Jedi in Tampa will unlock it.
  25. Loved Schneiders debut, 2-5 with a single and HR. What’s interesting about that…. He could do that every single game over an entire season, finish with 364 hits and 162 HRs…and would still have a lower OPS at the end of the season than Bonds’ OPS in 2004.
