Another confusing result for Vlad to watch. Still cannot believe guys are up there pulling fastballs for power.
Lazy ground balls to the 2b is how you show the pitcher you can go the other way
Vlad can't believe that HR from Kieboom. Pulling an inner half fastball at 93?
Shoulda inside-outed it for a cheap single to right. These kids just don't get it
Yeah he did a few slide steps last night to help keep guys guessing a bit but the majority were still full leg kicks deliveries.
When a guy like Abrams gets one of those to run on he's not getting gunned by anyone.
Sprint speed is only calculated on plays where they run hard, and it's only the fastest part of that run so sprint speed metrics do not vary all that much after a few qualified runs
The trouble with making him a pen arm…if he’s already in the game as a DH or even a RF or 1B, how does he start to stretch and get loose before coming out to the mound for the normal time-constrained warm up pitches?
He’d be nearly 100% limited to DH and have to go from the bench out to the bullpen to start warming up and hope he didn’t have to hit that inning.
Roden is a decent bat to ball guy but take his power numbers in New Hampshire with a grain of salt. the RF porch is only 306 away.
The true game power still has a ways to go.
Sure, he's getting better results with less movement, more velo. It works for him. It's weird to look at his curveball movement #'s... it looks pretty similar movement-wise to what his slider was doing a few seasons ago.
It's hard to argue with the results but his slider is actually the worst one of his career so far. Its horizontal and vertical movement on it are both worse than ever in his career and IMO he throws it too hard. Backing it off 2-ish mph would probably be beneficial.
Not sure if anyone has listened to any Baltimore TV or Radio highlights, but man alive are they straight up fellating the team at every opportunity. It's way past anything I've heard before from any team's broadcasters. They might as well be cheerleaders.
From what i've read about him he earns incredible reviews for his defense... arm, framing, calling... the whole deal. Maybe they want to challenge him that way instead of offensively? Seems weird to me
