    It says a lot about the intelligence of Aaron Rogers that he would equate getting a booster shot designed to prevent potentially deadly illness and protect people with weakened immune systems as not being manly, when one of the base stereotypes of the "manly man" is being a protector of those who are weak.

WHo would you rather have on your team... a) pitcher who always throws 4.2 IP and always gives up 0 runs pitcher who always throws 6 IP and always gives up 2 runs. Given no other information, which of the following hitters would you prefer to have on your team? Hitter A: .300/.450/.600 Hitter B: .000/1.000/.000

    Jay Jackson is a free agent at the end of the season. Even though he doesn’t have 6 years service time at the end of 2023 he has a clause in his contract that grants him free agency.

    Amongst the top 40 SP in innings pitched and just shy of 170 total innings. he’s hardly being yanked early all season. But even if that’s the case it’s hard to argue with the results of doing so. My guess is they have some pretty compelling numbers that at a certain pitch count his spin rates and “stuff” start to take a noticeable hit and it’s better to get him out than leave him in to get teed off on.

    Hasn’t been the case these last few series, they kicked it around pretty badly at the Trop too.

    I dont know how they would handle it... maybe like spring training here the regulars start and then half get replaced during the game. There's a case to made either way for keeping hitters timing up to speed vs resting guys that have nagging issues. Then there's the integrity of competition thing if that matters to them. Maybe they switch up the pitching rotation though. All we know from either team as far as SP goes is Civale vs Kikuchi tonight, next two are TBD on both sides.

    I agree with you here, I wasnt meaning to suggest that RT should just be held down regardless, just that bringing him up as MB suggests just to get a look because maybe he helps...especially with his injuries this year where he needs to be guaranteed innings and pitches in a place were results matter far less.

    Bassitt with 200 IP, Gausman 185 (maybe more depending on need), Berrios 1 out shy of 190 and Kikuchi probably falls just short of 170. Doubt anyone had that on their Jays bingo card for 2023.

    This is flawed logic. Experimenting with Tiedemannwhen you can't guarantee him enough innings would be detrimental at best to his chances of being a meaningful starter down the stretch next season if needed. Short sighted ideas like this are silly. Thinking you'll just deal with the additional innings later is kicking the can down the road when you don't need to

    Yeah he legit sued MLB in 2017 because he hadn’t been given a World Series spot since 2005 and saying he should have also been promoted to crew chief and wasn’t because MLB wasn’t promoting minorities.

    Yeah that was a while ago, he also alleged he was passed over for being promoted to being a crew chief. He lost, then appealed, and lost the appeal also “Hernández has failed to establish a statistically significant disparity between the promotion rates of white and minority umpires,” the 2nd Circuit said in an 11-page decision. “MLB has provided persuasive expert evidence demonstrating that, during the years at issue, the difference in crew chief promotion rates between white and minority umpires was not statistically significant. Hernández offers no explanation as to why MLB’s statistical evidence is unreliable.”
