  1. Yup. Kirks too slow to advance when he should, and Vlad is stupid.
  2. At least we get Green in the 9th.
  3. And the run value lost is about half as bad. That’s a pretty good improvement one year to the next. If they could stop Rivera from sending guys to die by 20 feet, they might be around even. Kirk will always be negative, Belt will be negative and a Vlad will be negative. Jansen could be negative but is usually a plus or at least average.
  4. Baseball Savant just put out a new baserunning metric earlier this year. You can find it here: https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/leaderboard/baserunning It breaks down where the guys get there values from too whether it’s advances, holds or being thrown out To nobodies surprise, the worst offender in baseball this year at being thrown out is Teoscar Hernandez. Vlad is 4th worst
  5. You should probably look at 2023 numbers instead of 2022. I get that it’s still not a net positive value from runs, but it’s better than 2022.
  6. That was so not a fair ball. Lol
  7. Also keep in mind you’re likely only watching Jays games, so you see every mistake they make, not all the mistakes all the other teams make regularly as well. That always makes it seem worse than it is.
  8. This is why numbers and stats are made available though, to make sure reality matches the eye test, which is very unreliable. Overall, the Jays are much better on the bases than last season. Vlad, Kirk and Belt are the culprits of dragging down the team metrics to where they are, but still much better than last season.
  9. That’s not what you said. You made a blanket statement that “ Athletes that come from money like Vlad don't have that kind of hunger.” Jackson Holliday is an athlete that came from money, so it is your contention that he, by your definition, will not have that hunger either. That’s good to know
  10. Be a nice game to bring in Green for his first action
  11. Someone get Belt some oxygen please
  12. Well that’s good to know, Jackson Holliday will be a flop then.
  13. He had to hold up a bit to be sure it wasn’t caught, Rivera being pretty conservative tonight also
  14. Vlad gave that PA away after the bad call.
  15. Probably just seeing the reason they moved him off third early in his career.
  16. I’ve got no issues with the move to go to Cabrera with a full pen, everyone rested with 2 guys on and 2 outs and a lefty coming up. That’s what he’s there for. That’s the textbook time to go to the lefty for that hitter. He just got a great swing on him.
  17. Frigging Jansen just can’t catch a break. He’s been hit by more balls than Hazel Mae this year
  18. Pretty sure I just saw Spanky at the game
  19. Hmmm….Schneider yanked that way wide. Pick him up Jimi
  20. Great play by Tovar. Wow
  21. Not that this game gains the Rockies was already as close to must win as you can get…this really makes it must win.
  22. Wonder if Bud Black has a word for Angel….yeah, I’m sure he has several and all rhyme with f*** You Suck
  23. Clement would be a good guy to hit and run with if they wanted to
  24. Holy s*** Jansen murdered that ball
