  1. Even getting it back up to .180 would be nice. Of all his HRs in the majors, all but 5 for Biggio have come against RHP. Against lefties he's the limpest of noodles.
  2. I guess what I'm saying is, I don't want a league average bat with below average power(as a LHH vs RHP) as the strong side of a platoon, unless maybe he's 2b platooning only. I'd be more thrilled with the league average guy as the weak side of the platoon, unless the weak side guy does have legit well above average power against LHP that is consistently being displayed. Biggio is a vanilla backup with no outstanding attributes that warrants more playing time than that of a backup IMO. He's a very good bench guy to have though, like as far as bench guys go, he's definitely a guy you want to have around. To me, strong side of a platoon is more than a bench role. He exists in the gray space somewhere between bench guy and strong side platoon for me.
  3. I would like to see more power output for him though. Even as a strong side platoon bat his ISO against RHP is .180, wrc+ 105 for his career. This season it's .162, behind both Varsho and KK. The walks give him a strong enough base to start from from but getting that ISO against RHP back up to career norms or even over .200 would be massively beneficial. Without that, he's a stopgap utility guy at best.
  4. Not a clue. I’m an insufferable pedantic fastidious perfectionist by day.
  5. I’m still open to Whit coming back but the dollars are getting lower by the day. 2/16ish maybe. As cold as he is with the bat right now, having a bench guy who can play multiple positions, hits lefties and runs well are good guys to have around. Punt Espinal, keep Biggio, Whit, Clement and Horwitz as the primary bench guys alongside the backup catcher. Good mix of youth and experience, pretty much every position covered and would be around 12 million total. Leaves lots of payroll flex to address LF and the pitching
  6. Is this the new Savanna Bananas gag? Pitcher throws a bat and hitter hits it with a ball? Now that’s entertainment
  7. as if on cue... damn nice play
  8. Ask and ye shall receive
  9. Being wrong for both sides is doubly a problem. Excusing incompetence with the rationale of consistency is just wrong
  10. Green up to 97. Good to see. I wouldn't say no to an insurance run or two right about now
  11. It's a good example of why relying on stringing hits together is really hard against good pitching and why power is preferable.
  12. Aidy...the actress from SNL. That's all I got
  13. Exercise is about 20% of the solution. Can exercise all you want but if you eat like a human garbage disposal it won't matter much.
  14. Yeah if you want to work for nobody important, have 0 accreditation and basically be worthless..sure.
  15. No no, this is a good thing because Vlads fat so he shouldn't be allowed to play anyways
  16. Forgive all you want. If you like I could get their Dietician over email and ask her to lay it out for you.
  17. Still the player. It's always the player
  18. No dude, I'm translating my thoughts to layman's terms so the mouth breathers can try to understand it. It's clearly not working. But I understand where it's coming from. People, when faced with frustration about pretty much anything, need to lay blame. Laying blame is easy and it's easiest to latch on to the most obvious visual attribute and just say "that's the problem" and then assume that some authority over the source of that frustration should step in and force change so their frustration is alleviated, regardless of whether that is right or wrong. People are intrinsically self-absorbed and very rarely understand when that self absorption doesn't apply to someone else's life
  19. Pretty sure those are two very different sports than MLB. The physicality of the NFL and NBA compared to MLB isnt even close. I'm also pretty sure they don't.
  20. It has literally nothing to do with this. Man you people are thicker than Kirk's thighs.
  21. If it were some dipshit bench guy...ya sure. But two guys who are core pieces are never gonna see anything punitive done to them for any extended period of time. What purpose does cutting off your nose to spite your face accomplish? It would just hurt the team. Trading guys like that if there's a partner and a good return would be far more likely than ever seeing a guy like Kirk or Vlad benched. And a trade for that reason is pretty unlikely.
  22. Scroll around the threads. There's more than one poster here who thinks the Jays have, or should have the power to determine what players do in the offseason. All they can do is suggest a course of action.
  23. How would benching Kirk right now benefit the Jays? How would.benching Vlad in April this season have benefitted the Jays? A player can't do much to massively lose weight during the season it's all about maintenance.
  24. Kirk as well a few seasons ago. It's all back now but...at least they know the ability is there if the player wants it. I guess people assume that they actually do have control over their players 24/7 365. It's a weird assumption
