    No i was upset that it smelled like a giant bowl of urine. Seats are wrought iron crap from the 20s that arent pointed towards the play, uncomfortable as f*** with terrible sightlines. THe worst part was the urine smell though. All Fenway has is the monster, and history. THat's not enough for me to enjoy a game viewing experience in person.

    I loved Boston as a city when I was there, even getting to Fenway on the train and walking to the park was fantastic. Once inside, the experience went from A+ to complete dog s***. Fenway is a giant urine stain

    Putting together a good front office means a whole lot of nothing when you’re not willing to sign cheques. …..without big changes, the only way the team could retain its core of young stars would be to raise prices, "dramatically." - Angelos. Really sounds like a guy willing to drop 30 million on one player when he’s already priming the fan base to say good bye to his current crop of studs?

    Or, it was the plan all along to go balls out for one year and trade Soto after 2023 regardless of the results to reload the farm. It’s not like they could really foresee being under .500, and they probably really shouldn’t be that bad. They likely just got every bad coin flip result they could get this season.

    Kinda all points to a Soto trade doesn’t it. It would make the most sense if the directive is to get down to around 200 million, though I doubt the directive is truly that low. It’s probably more like, get under the 1st luxury tax threshold Soto would be an interesting get for LF. Preller wouldn’t have much leverage to ask for multiple premium prospects or anything since they wouldn’t want to retain any money.

    Well…..no. They’re actually underperforming their run diff by a few games, but they’re within the error bars. They’re right about where they should be.

    Sam Diego is not a bad team. Bad teams don’t outscore their opponents by nearly 100 runs over the course of the season. Run diff for them is up to 91.

    Fangraphs splits, sort by season and scroll down. Is it a coincidence that Vlad recent power surge coincides with a near 60% pull rate in September? and he now has his season fly ball pull rate up to 25% when it was down near 16% at some point in August? Pulled ground ball rate now down to 55% on the season when it was over 65% not that long ago. I recall seeing 65% on the ground and 16% in the air to the pull side at some point in August. Seems Vlad has made a change to actively try pulling again

    Pretty much, I’m guessing he goes to the highest ranked team (in his estimation) willing to offer a major league deal since they’ll be for the same amount of money.

    Clement is a much lighter hitting version of Bichette. Both are hackers with incredible bat to ball skills that makes them swing at more pitches than they should, but Bo has 25+ HR pop, I very much doubt Clement does. Clements entire offensive value will tied the babip gods. He also has defensive flexibility in his favour. He can replace Espinal any day as far as my opinion goes. Clement can do Espinal’s job for league minimum rather than the 3 million or so that he’s in line for.

    You are correct. Minor league free agent if not added to the 40 man at the start of the offseason. Well, the good news then for him is that his performance in the latter part of the season likely gets him a major league deal somewhere. He can definitely see a path to the majors with Toronto also given Ryu going away and Manoah’s current situation. Francis is on the 40 man already with options, so he wouldn’t be lost and if White impresses in ST, that’s all the reason the Jays would need to keep Tiedemann in AAA to build up the innings even more before possibly debuting later in the season. He’ll have other suitors for sure though, but I doubt anyone commits to anything beyond the basic 1 year league minimum deal.

    The best part about the White situation is that since he's no longer on the 40 man roster he can still start 2024 in Buffalo without fear of losing him.

    Overall ..yes the ground ball rate doesn't look horrible, but his pull ground ball rate vs pulled flyball rate is next level putrid. That's where the power went

    Tons of 4-5 pitching type options out there this offseason, Ryu coming back is a possibility but I doubt it.
