    I wonder why Bauer agreed to dismiss his lawsuit if the evidence was so overwhelming in his favour as it appears to be. Should have been a a slam dunk win. Maybe just to get it over with and stop paying lawyers I guess? Not like she could ever pay him the amount of money she’s responsible for costing him anyways

    Small ball gets you what you’re seeing right now. The team that hit the 2 HRs winning. First runner gets on, ground out to 1st advancing the runner to second. Excellent small ball. Next runner hits a line drive out to deep centre, runner advances to 3rd by tagging up. Good small ball. Next guy gets out, runner stranded at third. Good small ball.     Belli fWAR 4.1, bWAR 4.4, 17.5 million KK fWAR 2.6, bWAR 3.9, 9 million KK wins easily on bWAR the math there is obvious. On fWAR, KK 3.46 million per win, Belli 4.27 million per win. KK with a sweep in better value in a vacuum. Arguable as to who was worth more overall to each team given the Cubs fell short, Jays got a WC. Let the debate begin.

    I find most fans’ expectations are completely unrealistic at the best of times. The expect their team to go 162-0 but all losses are all the manager and front offices fault. They expect to never lose a game once their team is ahead by one in the 1st inning. They expect that players can randomly summon additional skills during “clutch” whenever it’s important but never seem to understand why the player can’t summon that same skill any other time. The list of idiotic fan expectations is long and distinguished, just like my ignore list.

    I don't think expectations are unrealistic. Any team that makes the playoffs has a shot at a deep run, regardless of how flawed they may be. Baseball is a weird game where long seasons and hundreds of PAs, and tens of thousands of pitches are thrown before you can really start to make somewhat accurate predictions of long term performance of players individually and teams as a whole. A playoff series is such a tiny sample size of overall data that wild swings one way or the other are pretty common. Atlanta squeaks into the playoffs two years ago by the skin of their teeth and wins it all. Next season they come back with a much better team overall, bounced in the DS by the Phillies who snuck into the playoffs by the skin of their teeth. Phillies lose the WS to Houston. Every series has a favorite and an underdog, but the gaps between the two are so much smaller than most people truly realize. Speaking of which, Jays have 89 wins, Twins have 87. Twins won their division, Jays are the 3rd wildcard. Twins are at home, Jays on the road. Who's the favorite?

    Not quite, but she did get a chunk of cash from insurance apparently... per her lawyer "In April 2022, Trevor Bauer sued Lindsey Hill for defamation. In what turned out to be an outstanding resolution for Lindsey, neither Lindsey nor anyone on her behalf paid anything to Bauer. Not a single dollar. Even better, Lindsey received $300,000 dollars from her insurance company. Based on that payment, Lindsey agreed to settle the lawsuit. Now that the lawsuit is over, Lindsey looks forward to helping others." in other news... The discovery process in the lawsuit had recently concluded, leading to a proposal by Hill's legal team to settle the case. In this settlement, neither party sought financial compensation from the other, and both agreed to drop their respective lawsuits. Bauer retained the right to speak publicly about the case, something he had not been able to do since June 2021 Bauer's public statement on this should be interesting to say the least.

    Depends on your point of view. They're as energetic as anyone when they win, and as lethargic and boring when they lose. That kind of stuff is really hard to say whether it's good or bad, but the clubhouse will sort that out themselves. Last season the bench had tons of energy and happiness, and fans hated it because they thought it meant they werent taking the game seriously. This year they say its low energy and they take the game too seriously and arent having enough fun. So, that kind of thing is really just all ******** stuff that fans look at as use as easy ways to dump on a team after failure, or praise after winning. It's all rather meaningless to what goes on the field.

    Yeah, their 1-2 SPs have as much chance to make our lineup look as bad as our pitchers can make theirs look. It will all come down to intangibles and unquantifiable grit, who wants it more, clubhouse attitude and pre-game buffet meal choices.
