  1. As as bench guy only, not a starter I'm cool with Biggio. He brings a high floor, versatility on D, speed and a decent baseball IQ. Not sure what else people want in a bench guy. As a starter... hell no. Yes, he makes too much money for the bench role, I get that and he'd probably be someone they'd non-tender after 2024 and try to re-sign at a lower number or lose him. I like tools and versatility on the bench to fill very specific needs at a given time rather than trying to shoe-horn a 1b/DH in at 2nd because he might hit a few points higher in batting average.
  2. I'm just generally wary of high OBP low power output guys with the gap in quality pitching from AAA to the majors, coupled with the lack of other tools. I agree he deserves a chance though.
  3. Literally none of what you said makes any sense. None of Vlads accolades from 2021 and prior make a damn bit of difference if he's a 3WAR 1B/DH in 2024 and 2025 going to FA heading into 2026 4 straight meh seasons weigh more than 1 MVP level season
  4. Ikf you beautiful bastard
  5. Most of what you say is true, except the 1b/DH position doesn't follow that rule. It's not the AAV that's the problem with the contract but the 10 year part. There's just 0 reason to sign a guy like Vlad to a 10 year deal as a 3WAR 1b/DH.
  6. Heh, dumb bunt, it worked perfectly for the Jays except for horseshit bad luck that a the worst contact imaginable falls in. Just gotta laugh at that This is all on the offense...yet again

And yet the OIlers can't be upset at their effort or game plan. They carried the play, got way more chances and just got stoned by a hot goalie. Stick to that and they likely come home 1-1.
  8. oh i agree its pathetic to throw him out for a sign, but the level of ignorance to equate it to a Freedom of Speech issue is just as pathetic.
  9. You're actually so far past wrong it's astounding.
  10. HIs velo seems down, hes usually up around 94.
  11. What pathetic is equating Freedom Of Speech with a sign at a baseball game
  12. Eh? No, I think DFAing Biggio is a mistake when guys like Vogelbach are still here. Biggio gives you defensive flex and speed. Horwitz gives you maybe the same OBP, likely the same or worse power, slowest footspeed on the team likely except for Kirk and Vogelbach, and no defensive utility. Replacing Biggio with Horwitz is just dumb, unless Horwitz is set to magically increase his game power at the big league level
  13. Nobody is paying 10/250 for a 1b/DH who can't hit at least 40 bombs on the regular. 8/168 for Olsen sets the bar. Vlad isn't anything close to Olsen even being several years younger when he signs his deal. Same deal for Freeman though a larger discrepancy in age. If Vlad was hitting like even 85% of 2021 Vlad and had been for the past 3 seasons. And continued to do right up until.his contract expired, sure 300 million might be on the table. Zero teams will pay 300 million for a 3war 1b/DH
  14. Yeah its just stipud to cross 3 time zones in 7 days. Usually when you go west, you play at least 2 series on the coast, sometimes 3, then come home.
  15. What kind of ******** roadtrip is 3 in Oakland and then 3 in Milwaukee?
  16. Did you know players get paid extra to be mic'd up? $10,000 for wearing the 2-way wire for at least 1 inning.
  17. One thing I did not expect was a Cake reference today. Excellent
  18. Still a very cromulent bench piece.
  19. Why not? People park on driveways and drive on parkways.
  20. I agree with the timing of the chance, but not when the LF got to it so easily. If it was the RF gap and the CF was going into RF and had to turn and throw off his back foot...sure.
  21. Looks out to me, fromt hand made it first but when it came off the back hand wasn't there yet and the tag was still on him
  22. I'm trying to picture that DP happening with Vlad at 3rd and Horwitz at 2b...I'm having trouble seing it completed.
  23. Holy god...and IF with Horwitz at 2b, vlad at 3rd, Bichette at SS and Turner at first? So much for IF defense being a priority
  24. AA will claim him and he'll find his power stroke overnight and be a 5 fWAR monster by next season. Tampa is another team that would jump at a high floor guy
  25. I would have turfed Vogelbach, as much as Biggio is a let down with the bat, his defensive utility and speed make him a far better option for a bench role. Horwitz is maybe a league average bat, with below average everything else. All they did was get slower and less versatile defensively with another 1b/DH. I don't care where they've been trying him at AAA, he's not a 2b. 131 PA for Biggio, still put up .5 fWAR. Total 1761 PA, 6.5 fWAR. He's not a nothing burger, but hes sure not what you thinkmof as a league aevrage regular either. As much as I dislike watching him hit, this team will miss his skillet if Horwitz hasnt taken a very big leap in the game power department
