  1. Sure, but if you look it from 22 year year olds perspective, does he really want it known by anyone that he's shooting blanks and can't get his wife pregnant? That's one of those kinds of things that older guys...who gives a fuc, well take the pills.and talk about it over a beer, but a 22 year old athlete who likely has a pretty decent case of machoism....that's not something that would be easy to disclose. Poor decision obviously and legitimately stupid given his profession but, if it's legit I can totally understand his thought process.
  2. They probably would if he had told them about it
  3. Give yourself a pat on the back for that reference
  4. The Dunning-Kruger effect is on full display extremely often here.
  5. To be a genius is to be misunderstood. But just because you're misunderstood doesn't mean you're a genius.
  6. That's pretty much it. The gap in pitching skill from AAA to the majors is massive right now. The mistakes guys are teeing off on in AAA on a regular basis just don't happen in MLB anywhere close to the same frequency. This belief is exactly why I don't buy Horwitz suddenly finding power without an actual swing overhaul. He's an even more vanilla version of Lyle Overbay lite.
  7. Kind of a broken record scouting report on nearly all the Jays players in AAA and AA outside of Orelvis: "Player X has one of the better plate approaches in the system (insert OBP). He's still working to find some power, but since the system as a whole pretty much sucks he'll get a look"
  8. define respectable.
  9. What about blow job while getting a colonoscopy?
  10. Newest Japanese sensation Sasaki....Kikuchi says he's like a little brother to him, and used to babysit him. https://www.mlb.com/news/yusei-kikuchi-considers-rintaro-sasaki-a-little-brother?partnerID=mlbapp-android_article-share Clearly this means the Jays will draft him when he's eligible and will resign or extend Kikuchi to make sure that happens.
  11. I've never been myself, but word is Cleveland as a city has undergone quite the resurgence in the past 10-15 years and is a very cool place to checkout now
  12. That's a true dick move by ownership. Just fire the guy
  13. Nothing really wrong with his glove. It's about average for his career and had been trending up over the past 3 seasons. The only thing to really fix is the borderline comatose plate approach.
  14. How'd you know wilko's nickname?
  15. Turner, probably not, but KK can be dealt with some cash. Elite OF D and speed always has a place on a contender. Savings likely wouldnt be tremendous, but could get some lottery ticket back
  16. I'm reminded of the hitting instructor we had on the Radio Scouts podcast, I still recall one specific thing he mentioned ... about how to teach a swing and he said something like... "Put a ball on a tee a certain distance from a fence, tell the kid to hit the ball over the fence and in a few years he'll have a great swing
  17. Can't wait for the 4 fWAR Biggio to return
  18. Or if Vlad had 15-20 HRs like his talent should allow him to hit instead of 7
  19. Careful, anyone with power will immediately be converted to a single slap-happy powerless weakling by the time he's 20
  20. Probably. But any hopes for a burn-it-down type fire sale are misplaced. The suits would never authorize a Baltimore style tank job where you play .325 baseball for 4 years trying to nail those top picks. It doesn't make any sense given the Jays also wouldn't get the small market comp picks to really up their bonus pools. It's gonna be constant retooling, swinging trades, hitting on a few international signing and hoping you somehow start developing these picks from 15-20 The real rebuild has to happen in the development system starting with the right philosophy on what tools you want your guys to possess. The parade of "excellent contact, we'll try to teach them power later" is not working
  21. Horwitz playing 2b will cut into his playing time. Can't really avoid that unless you firmly plant KK on the pine.
  22. Shane Dawson alnost made it a few years back and he was born here in Alberta, Macko was born in Slovakia, just moved here early on.
  23. Seems to me they have the playing time split just about right. Kirk, when playing more often, seems to suck with the bat. Defense will be there regardless. Jansen is no slouch defensively either. Struggling a bit with the bat right now but while he's healthy, ya gotta ride him. never know when he takes the next pitch off his wrist.
