  1. I can't figure out why you wouldn't bring in a well rested Romano to face Mountcastle. It's an unacceptably poor managerial decision in my eyes.
  2. Good outing Berrios. Only 86 pitches, but I've seen enough. Let Jimmy start fresh next inning.
  3. An arm like Quintana or Chad Kuhl would be helpful to us if Ryu is out long term and they are cheap to acquire. I trust them more than what we have in AAA.
  4. Two strawman arguments in one post. Pretty impressive.
  5. You must be awfully happy then. Call me crazy, but a player in the middle of a good season with a similarly good career behind him just might be a good player. Radical, I know. I'm not sure how to respond to the mortgaging the future part that you added. Nobody has suggested anything that would warrant such a comment.
  6. You're trying to create a false dichotomy, but neither player has to be traded. There's really nothing to agree or disagree about here. You are just wrong. Biggio is a good hitter now (109 wRC+) and has been one on the whole for his career (107 wRC+), even including the injury ravaged 2021. The disconnect is that you're suggesting a sudden regression at age 27, during a three week stretch where he's getting on base 50% of the time. That's fine, but I'm not really buying it. We need good players now and we have one. The Groshans situation can be resolved next year if we don't trade him.
  7. What exactly do you consider an up the middle position? He's really pretty good at 2B. The idea of trading a good and much needed bat is a non-starter for me. It would be incredibly foolish.
  8. How does trading our only quality left handed hitter for a reliever make any sense for this team? We need to add another bat like Biggio, not subtract the one we have.
  9. Biggio is a proven quality starter at 2B and I don't trade him unless I get that kind of value in return. He's really looking like that 3 WAR player we had in 2019 and 2020.
  10. How would we feel about dealing Groshans for an elite reliever with control like David Bednar?
  11. Perhaps not, but I think he's one of the best fits out there for us with his lefty bat, ability to play CF, and postseason experience. There will be at-bats for him when it counts.
  12. I think we'd probably target a depth guy like Chad Kuhl barring any further health issues. Andrew Benintendi seems like the guy if we were to trade Groshans, but I could also see a high end reliever.
  13. Ezequiel Carrera would be about a full win upgrade on what we have now. Chris Colabello isn't a positional fit but was a rather good bench piece as well.
  14. That's an accurate representation of the Angels' defense.
  15. John Gibbons not having a job is absolutely criminal.
  16. And not facing us in the next series.
  17. This kind of stuff predates Minasian, so Arte Moreno is also an idiot. The rest of the teams in that division are so lucky to have the Angels and Mariners. There isn't a worse pair of division rivals in the 2000s, not even the Reds and Pirates.
  18. He can't be Rich Garces until he has a cool nickname like 'El Guapo'.
  19. I won the BBDL league for 2 consecutive years and quit over mid season rule changes that I perceived as cheating. Spanky took over the third year and made the playoffs. I'm not sure how the team did after that. I never participated in LOD, but I did make an awful lot of trades, connorp. I am out of cell service too often in the summer to play fantasy baseball anymore, unfortunately.
  20. Vladdy - 1 Point - Springer - 1 Point - Bichette - 2 Points - Deadpool Teo - 2 Points - Jansen - 2 Points - Chapman - 3 Points - Grant77 Kirk - 3 Points - Gurriel Jr - 4 Points - Espinal - 5 Points - wilko Biggio - 6 Points - Tapia - 8 Points - Zimmer - 8 Points - Off the bench: 8 Points -
  21. I think you're correct in your reasoning, but even with similarly extreme profiles, it is exceedingly rare for a player to put up a BABIP that low over an extended period. Jose Bautista was routinely one of the lowest players in the league and settled in around a .250 BABIP. Even ignoring that altogether, he's still putting up a 120 wRC+. In AA at age 20. That's very impressive.
