  1. Trouba is trolling again, there hasn't been any word one way or another about Loup. He could be available.
  2. It's negative because they subtract a positional adjustment, which adjusts for all of the big bats in right field. Positions like catcher and shortstop get a positive adjustment. If you want to see his true numbers, go to the 'advanced fielding' tab and look at 'UZR/150'. I don't think it's all that reliable, but it's what you're looking for.
  3. That's worth considering, but I don't think the Rays would be interested.
  4. I had to take a personality test for work long ago and got 'INTP', with the 'I' standing for introvert. The description said they live in their heads and don't care much for wealth, making them both the laziest and the most intelligent. Not that this really has anything to do with the conversation, but maybe introverts are less likely to be greedy. It's not the first time I've heard that.
  5. I would love a Piscotty HR here for pure comedic value. I really dislike both teams, go Mets!
  6. I don't think it is. In my opinion, there are three main reasons to deal away veteran players: 1. Payroll constraints 2. Poor team performance 3. Bad farm system/drafting We're a 90+ win playoff team with payroll space and a good player development system. Everything is set up nicely for us. If we apply a regular decline curve to both guys, they still project for 10.5 WAR each in the next 3 seasons. We've already got Martin, Tulo, and maybe Donaldson on long term deals, so the benefit of those wins is immense. If you want to remain a playoff team, we'd just have to replace that production somewhere else, maybe at an even higher cost. I guess what it boils down to for me is, where's the need? We have young pitching and some other resources to bolster it. I'm not against a long term outlook, but we can also keep winning in the process. I don't think that's a pipe dream.
  7. Why not?
  8. I'm not certain that trading them is necessary or the correct move. There aren't huge payroll constraints if we let Price go and we have the flexibility to transfer Jose to 1B sometime in the next couple of years. As long as we keep that big five (Donaldson, Tulo, E-Rex, JB, Martin) then we're a contender in my eyes. Add in Travis, KP and a developed Pompey/Alford and you're looking at a pretty dynamic offense.
  9. I'd rather deal Revere + for a Tyson Ross type and roll with what we have in the outfield. Trading away whatever prospect depth we have left is setting us up for a long rebuild. We could have a long string of contention built around Donaldson, Tulo, Martin, Stroman, Osuna, Sanchez, and Travis if we play our cards right.
  10. "The Cubs/Cardinals game averaged 5,376,000 viewers, with a peak of seven million total from 9:00-9:15 PM. The Mets/Dodgers game averaged 4.7 million viewers, peaking at 5.1 million total from 10:30-10:45 p.m."
  11. Anyone have US ratings for any of the series for comparison? They have 10x the population, but I bet the ratings won't reflect that.
  12. That's a very different situation, not exactly what I meant.
  13. I agree. This kind of thing just can't happen, but sometimes sports brings out the worst in people. This happens a lot in Europe too, I'm glad we're not like that with hockey.
  14. I'm sad, but not surprised to hear that. Most American cities often have multiple homicides per day, including LA, so physical attacks are surely commonplace even without baseball.
  15. I don't fraternize with those lowlifes, my best friend is my orchid mantis. Get your facts straight, jeez.
  16. 58% strikes as starter, 62% as reliever.
  17. To all of you that went, I could hear you on TV all game long. In game 4 especially, Jays fans drowned out Rangers fans on many occasions. Well done!
  18. This will be an unpopular opinion, but I think it's essential to give Aaron Sanchez a chance to be the guy we saw in his last few starts before the injury. A pitcher with a K/BB at or over 2 and that groundball rate is highly valuable in our ballpark.
  19. I guess so and it's probably just me that has to look these up all of the time. People in my social circle don't really use them, so it's basically only this message board.
  20. Maybe it's just me, but is an anagram really necessary for a 12 letter phrase? Sometimes they make things harder to read, not easier.
  21. I feel worse about the chances, as we completely outclass the Rangers in every aspect of the game on paper. However, I'm still very confident now that the hitters have their groove back, especially Encarnacion.
  22. What is this family issue that caused Loup to miss a postseason game? I'm not criticizing, but just wondering.
  23. No, but they can decide which reliever gets it.
