  1. Dickey looks good, let's give him a bit of rope now.
  2. That's the second time this series Jose has dropped a ball he caught on impact.
  3. Jays off to a great start and the Astros blew it. Could this be any better? Royals-Jays would be freaking amazing, Astros are boring and I don't like them.
  4. Man, where would we be without Colabello? Throw the advanced stats out the window until the offseason, he's been a stud.
  5. Love the lack of excitement on the part of the broadcasters. "Flyball to right...*sigh*....and it's gone...
  6. I picture Frank Costanza saying that when I read it.
  7. Yes. Ned Yost is a fool.
  8. It's not some crazy theory, it's a real thing that proves itself over and over again.
  9. After the gong show that was Jeff Bannister yesterday, I'd dispute that. Gibby makes kind of questionable decisions now and again, but rarely a series of moves as egregious as that.
  10. Posted in other thread, but for reference: Vs Dickey: Fielder: 3/13, 1 HR Choo: 4/11 Andrus: 0/9 Hamilton: 4/8 Moreland: 1/3, 1 HR Odor: 2/3 Chirinos: 0/2 Total: 14/49 (.286), 2 HR vs Holland: Revere: 0/8 Donaldson: 6/20, 2 HR Bautista: 4/20, 1 HR Encarnacion: 5/15, 2 HR Colabello: 2/3, 1 HR Martin: 0/7 Tulowitzki: 2/3 Pillar: 1/3 Total: 20/79 (.253), 6 HR
  11. Just in, Adrian Beltre is NOT in the lineup again today.
  12. Vs Dickey: Fielder: 3/13, 1 HR Choo: 4/11 Andrus: 0/9 Hamilton: 4/8 Moreland: 1/3, 1 HR Odor: 2/3 Chirinos: 0/2 Total: 14/49 (.286), 2 HR vs Holland: Revere: 0/8 Donaldson: 6/20, 2 HR Bautista: 4/20, 1 HR Encarnacion: 5/15, 2 HR Colabello: 2/3, 1 HR Martin: 0/7 Tulowitzki: 2/3 Pillar: 1/3 Total: 20/79 (.253), 6 HR
  13. I agree and disagree. Gonzalez is a terrible pitcher that has no business being in a close playoff game. I hope we see him again.
  14. Everyone has different expectations of a sports league when they give them their money. I expect logical and fair decisions, not the catering to the whims of a bunch of complete idiots that we just saw. You're also lying about the umpire thread, as I made very clear that there was no conspiracy. I was upset that an umpire with a bad track record and little experience had cost us runs when more competent people were available. Russ Martin had pretty much said the same thing after the game.
  15. Almost everyone says I'm right in this instance, both posters and players, but I'm not afraid to take a stand when the facts are in my favour. Facts and logic matter, emotions don't. That's why Krylian is wrong.
  16. I didn't even give him a second thought the entire game and neither did the commentators. Hats of to Mr. Marquez, that's the greatest compliment you can get as an umpire.
  17. Holy f***, learn to read. RULES SHOULD NOT CHANGE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE f***ING PLAYOFFS. I'm convinced that you are just trolling now, maybe the mods should just get rid of you. Gnite.
  18. The NHL didn't just decide in the middle of the Stanley Cup Playoffs to start suspending players. They made it very clear in the offseason what kind of hits wouldn't be tolerated and it's been a great success in my view. Nobody was caught off guard by that change.
  19. Is anyone here actually arguing that players shouldn't do this anymore? It's the fairness and discipline aspect that is in question
  20. From foxsports: ' "The overwhelming opinion on this matter was no, with 55 of the 65 players believing that there should be no discipline handed down from MLB for Utley."
  21. You're making an emotional and illogical argument about 'enforcing the rules' when they don't do it and never have. It's the f***ing playoffs, everything is at stake. For MLB to suddenly change the way they do things is just absurd. If this were a court of law and not a autocracy, Joe Torre and Rob Manfred would be laughed out of the room. Also, if you are naive and stupid enough to think that this will have ANY effect on 'player safety' for the remainder of the playoffs, I have a plot of land to sell you, real cheap. Edit: 85% of these players you are so concerned about thought the suspension was wrong.
  22. I posted this earlier: Rule 4.03(a): The Catcher's Balk A catcher can be called for a balk if he does not "stand with both feet within the lines of the catcher's box until the ball leaves the pitcher's hand." Should we start enforcing this, or are you a hypocrite whose opinions have no merit?
