  1. Anyone who reads this and goes to the game or interacts with anyone who is going to the game and so on could affect the game

  3. It makes business sense for them. Virtually nobody in the US cares about this series. The other series is really a marketing dream for MLB.
  4. There's no Joe West or Bob Davidson type, but you never know what you're going to get with umpires. I miss Tim McLelland.
  5. I'm just going to go ahead and call you Casey Blake since he's a former Jay.
  6. Rosters had to be submitted by 10am, Alex said yesterday.
  7. Colabello was our best hitter against Texas. I don't think you can sit him now.
  8. I think the Mets will win in 7 and feast on the Cubs bullpen in the process.
  9. http://forum.orioleshangout.com/forums/showthread.php/150429-O-s-fans-rooting-AGAINST-the-Blue-Jays-roll-call This gave me a thorough 20 minutes of pure enjoyment.
  10. I would be very surprised. Why would we trade rotation depth? There are literally zero needs on the position player side. I'd be happy with something like this: Stroman Anderson/Kazmir/Samardzija Dickey Hutchison Osuna/Sanchez Maybe a Brandon Beachy type to stash in AAA or as a long man.
  11. Without question.
  12. They shouldn't be endangered, but any parent with half a brain knows that a game 5 could be a volatile situation. Blame both parties for a complete lack of common sense.
  13. At least Tepera strikes out more guys than he walks. I was shocked when Gonzalez made the roster. Options were limited, but they did have Anthony Bass and maybe Sam Freeman.
  14. I've babysat a few children under 1, it's not that difficult. Everyone has parents, siblings, neighbours, a best friend, etc. People who pay big money for tickets have no excuses. There's no good reason to endanger your child at a stadium full of 50,000 drunks and emotionally charged fans.
  15. MLB just decides with no real explanation. Their rationale was that it was 'too cold' on a beautiful 15 C day, so it's really hard to know. We had it open on a colder day vs Tampa Bay.
  16. Oh man, I pissed that adolf guy off so much that he quit the forum. Good times.
  17. There are situations where I think he is better, yes.
  18. All I was saying was that people shouldn't blame Sanchez himself. It was getting a little out of hand; the guy performed admirably.
  19. LH batters were only 3-10 with 3 singles and 4 K's vs. Sanchez in this series. He didn't allow a single RH batter to reach base. I think people are being a little hard on him, as he did a really good job overall and pitched in every game.
  20. I was speaking more to his curious bullpen usage, but I also thought that it was a mistake not to start Lewis over Perez or Holland. I'm sure I'll miss some as I wasn't critiquing him at the time, but the decision to put in Gonzalez in a big situation and then overexpose Diekman and Dyson to our best hitters in an unnecessary situation (as njh said) was a terrible decision that stands out to me. Leaving Dyson in after that Bautista blast also made no sense. It's game 5, where was Tolleson? We almost blew that game wide open.
  21. They certainly did. On the flip side, Texas has never been able to develop good starting pitching in my lifetime. Their atrocious 4.68 ERA over the past 25 years is only beaten by the Rockies. CJ Wilson (and Colby Lewis, kind of) are the only legitimately good pitchers that they have drafted and developed in that entire 25 year span. A couple of ok guys have been dealt as prospects, but that's all I really see. Even Wilson (5 full years as RP) and Lewis (went to Japan) took really weird developmental paths.
  22. You should know that Adrian Gonzalez was not drafted by the Rangers. He was a first overall pick! Nelson Cruz was with THREE teams before the Rangers. Remember the big Carlos Lee trade?
  23. To play devil's advocate, Jeff Bannister made a number of foolish mistakes in the last series. The better manager won, even if Gibby wasn't at his best.
  24. They mean something, just not as much as a larger sample.
  25. Hahahaha amazing I had to look it up too: Marlon Byrd: 8 WAR since 2011 Carl Crawford: 6.1 WAR LOL. Funny how things turn out.
