  1. I don't really understand that deal. They must have been planning to DFA Wagner and just wanted to get him off of the 40-man.
  2. Awfully big contract for Correa. I wouldn't expect the Twins to get much back in return.
  3. Correa to the Astros
  4. I'm not going to hate on Atkins for now because there's still a ton of options out there, but these reliever deals are extremely cheap. There's no excuse not to get something done here.
  5. Explain the Bednar trade to me. I really don't get it at all. I get that teams value various prospects differently, but we should have been able to beat that.
  6. Historically, we've probably only seen maybe half of the deals that will be complete when all is said and done.
  7. Sucks for us, I wanted him.
  8. I'm just listening to a guy named Jim Riley on YouTube. He's not great, but breaks the trades right away and isn't annoying.
  9. I don't buy that at all. There's no way Boston turns that down.
  10. Laughable, if true. With his defense declining and salary increasing, this is a prime time to sell high on him.
  11. I bet they trade Suarez
  12. Holy crap, what a haul!
  13. Wild move. I wonder if he got a better return that the weak one we saw for Duran.
  14. I don't hate him, but anyone reasonable person can recognize that placing your friend in jail for your crimes is an awfully despicable thing to do. I didn't mean to compare that with DV, they are just the first bad people in the league that came to mind. Perhaps Class would be a more apt comparison in hindsight.
  15. Don't just go half way, Atkins. Tiedemann and Green for Bednar and Taylor Rogers RJ Schreck for Harrison Bader
  16. Great insight, thank you.
  17. That's an extremely high price for Bieber, but I'll reserve judgment until we see if he's healthy and if we get another reliever. Nobody really knows what to expect.
  18. Jays and Cards discussing Phil Maton, according to St. Louis reporter Derrick Good. I'm ok with that, but not as a replacement for a high level guy like Bednar.
  19. Their defense as a whole is exceptionally poor, ranking near the bottom of the league. The difference between them and us as per FRV is over 50 runs. They really took the up the middle thing to heart, as it's really just Raleigh and Rodriguez surrounded by a team that looks like it was specifically constructed to play bad defense. Their baserunning is very poor and the bullpen is in the bottom third, despite having Munoz and Brash. I get that the rotation is great and they can hit fairly well, but it's a deeply flawed .500ish team that is being carried by Raleigh.
  20. I would just leave Barger at 3B and roll with Ernie as the utility player as the article suggests. Then you put Schneider or the new addition in LF On the bench you go with Heineman, Clement, Straw, and the new addition. Loperfido and Roden can be depth or trade bait.
  21. Jon Heyman (take it with a grain of salt) thinks that the Padres may have a trade for Mason Miller. Mark Kotsay could not say why Miller was not available in his postgame interview.
  22. He hasn't pitched since Saturday, so it's not just a rest. Interesting.
  23. There are a lot of guys like Kittredge available if we want a guy like that.
