  1. I'm curious if they heat had any effect and the guys weren't ready to deal with that. It's something we haven't really seen this season. I think it's fair to say that we had an uncharacteristically large amount of defensive miscues and mental lapses. It wasn't just Berrios.
  2. The Rortvedt add is a little interesting with Rushing being mentioned in trade rumours.
  3. Mariners #9 prospect Tyler Locklear is the main piece going for Suarez. We've seen some fringe top 100 guys (on some lists, not others) get dealt, but I wonder if we'll see a real consensus high end prospect get traded at this deadline. Nobody as good as Nimmala or Yesavage has been dealt yet and the top reliever and position player are already gone.
  4. My understanding is that OAA would be a better metric for this, especially for outfielders, because it's less situational. Could be wrong, but I do know that FRV is more subject to fluctuations.
  5. Mariners get Eugenio Suarez
  6. As much as it's fueled by BABIP, we do have to consider Loperfido's major league performance to some extent. You don't just luck your way to a 186 wRC+. He's working pitchers, not striking out, and hitting the ball hard. Just from watching him, he certainly looks the part of an above average major league hitter.
  7. It's worth noting that Kwan's defense has slipped significantly in every season, to the point where he's at 0 OAA in 2025 (it was -1 the other day). He's no longer an elite or even above average defender.
  8. I expect that teams would place more than zero value on Loperfido. He was valued last year and has only enhanced his value in 2025 by cutting his K rate and showing real power at the major league level. We just saw a former top 100 guy who s*** the bed in 2025 go as one of the pieces for Duran, so I'm also hesitant to say that Martinez has zero value. MLB pipeline had him higher than JWB, who we just for Dominguez for.
  9. I would expect it's enough for Kwan, but I don't know how to value Bieber with that player option. It's probably the most high risk/reward a team could make at this deadline.
  10. I'm not wishing for anyone to get hurt, but I'm also not going to shed any tears if guys like him, Chapman, or Ozuna get injured.
  11. The Cubs #14 prospect and an unranked guy. Seems about right.
  12. Joey Loperfido, Orelvis Martinez, and Khal Stephen for those two. Who says no?
  13. I don't actually believe in it. It's just nice to see bad things happen to bad people.
  14. What is his value with that player option? It's quite a risk to take if he gets hurt again or doesn't perform.
  15. He's got incredibly poor command so it's just hard for me to see, but I'll defer to the experts. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/pre-deadline-top-100-prospects-update/ For what it's worth, neither Tate nor Abel, are in the top 100, but there are 5 Blue Jays including Kal Stephen at 80.
  16. That's quite shocking. Fangraphs isn't too high on him and his performance has been awful. He's got a nice fastball, but I don't see the appeal. He still looks like a reliever to me.
  17. I believe Abel a pitcher and no longer close to a top 100 guy
  18. The good news is: Prices aren't nearly as high as people had anticipated The bad news is: There may not be any relievers left by the time we realize this.
  19. Fangraphs ranks Nimmala similarly, but they aren't nearly as high on Tait, as he's unranked with a 45+ FV. I don't really see the appeal of Abel, given his age, poor performance, and extreme control problems. He looks like a reliever to me. I think we could have beaten this.
  20. They are getting Duran for a single 45 FV prospect that is like 4 years away and their equivalent of Bowden Francis? That's awfully cheap.
  21. It will be a win for the Phillies if they don't include Painter.
  22. May I ask why? It's not as if they regularly fleece teams.
