  1. f***ing right McGuire!!!!
  2. We were doing something seriously wrong with Sanchez. I can only hope that the problem was unique to him and we aren't screwing up our other young pitchers.
  3. I like this situation more than the Galvis bunt, but still not a fan.
  4. He will do good things for Houston, his stuff is as good as their top pitchers, but it just wasn't working here for whatever reason. This trade is all about Fisher doing well for the Jays.
  5. You do what makes you happy, Boxy.
  6. I'd like to see a replay of that tag at second.
  7. What is going on in the outfield?
  8. 111 mph from Vlad, wow. No wonder Santander had trouble with it.
  9. I wasn't making a comparison of the two players. I was just sharing my thoughts on Pardinho. I'd like to see a few starts from Woods-Richardson before making any judgments. Walk numbers at that level don't necessarily tell you who has better command.
  10. I can't comment on SWR too much, but Pardinho has a textbook delivery that is repeatable and should lead to excellent command as he progresses through the system. I can't recall seeing many 18 year old pitchers with such consistent command and mid 90's velo. I think that his ranking is justified.
  11. People are very enamoured with our shiny new object. There is still a huge amount of risk that comes with any 18 year old pitcher in A ball, with both performance and injury. I think it's justifiable to have the position players and older pitchers with better velocity/stuff ahead of him for that reason.
  12. Nothing could be better for this team than a couple of winning months to cap off the season. Success from our young players is more important than any draft pick. This isn't basketball.
  13. Looking at the roster, I'm older than every player except Smoak and I'm only 31. Wow.
  14. Trent Thornton looks like Justin Smoak when he doesn't wear glasses.
  15. Houston isn't even considering that and neither were we.
  16. “the Twins were disappointed when Toronto didn’t give them a chance to match an offer they believed they could have outdone.” (for Stroman). Apparently we just jumped on the first offer from the Mets without circling back to other teams.
  17. Sogard trade (6): We don't know the return, but dealing him to make room for Bo was the correct move. Stroman trade (1): For all of the talk of a weak market, Trevor Bauer got a significant haul while we're left with an extremely weak return. Considering he has been better this season and makes less money, we should have expected a similar return for Stro. We haven't seen a top flight pitcher with control go for so little in a very long time. Of course it had to be us. Phelps trade (3): Not a huge deal, but I thought that his option had some value. I would have kept him in our depleted bullpen and moved him next season. Hudson trade (7): Get what you can for him, not a bad return. Biagini/Sanchez trade (5): We gave up some serious value and control to get Fisher but he's got some serious talent so we'll see what happens. I could see this being a win win deal if Fisher breaks out. I have little doubt that those two will be excellent in Houston. Sanchez is one of the most talented pitchers in the league and they will know how to utilize him properly. I'll really miss Biagini and his personality. Overall grade (3): if they had gotten a Bauer type return for Stro then we'd be looking at a successful deadline. They moved the right guys for solid, unspectacular returns, which is fine. Wasting our biggest trade chip in an unacceptably poor trade taints the overall grade.
  18. You are obviously trolling so this will be my last response, but every prospect ranking that I have seen, including some updated recently, agree with me. We have a better 18 year old pitcher in our own organization. There's debate to be had, but you were never capable of intelligent discussion.
  19. I don't think he's even the best 18 year old pitcher in our organization. There are huge, huge risks associated with that kind of prospect and the consensus rankings reflect that.
  20. If that's Stroman's value then we'll be fortunate to get a single prospect that fits into our top 10.
  21. The Astros would be a good landing spot, but the Mets are a better spot than the AL East if he is looking for a big payday.
  22. I think he was just noting that Bo got called up.
  23. I like SWR better than Kay and I think that Pardinho should be higher than both pf them, but the rankings are fairly reasonable.
  24. The Cole trade landed a really solid big leaguer in Joe Musgrove, although I do agree that the return was light. Dustin Fowler was also top 100 in the Gray trade. Matt Moore was a total mess at the time of the trade. I don't think he had the value of Stroman but feel free to debate this. Matt Duffy was also a solid big leaguer as well. Mike Fiers was part of a larger deal that had at least one or two top 100 guys in Phillips and Santana. David Price went for a really solid big league pitcher in Drew Smyly.
  25. Money too, excellent. At this rate we might be able to pry away a backup outfielder at AAA for Giles.
