  1. If he doesn't pitch then nobody gets him. If he does pitch then his cost will be even higher because he has an extra year of control. There's no discount here and you're completely out to lunch if you think there is.
  2. The cost will dictated by what other teams are willing to pay. Delayed free agency will increase his cost even more.
  3. Ryu looks great tonight, good to see.
  4. We'd almost certainly have to include Woods-Richardson or Manoah and another top 10 bat. I'm not necessarily against that, but I'm curious to see how the Indians evaluate prospects. They may prefer major league pieces and we don't have that.
  5. That lineup is ok. Hopefully they can feed off of the weak elements of Tampa's bullpen.
  6. What do you guys make of Rowdy Tellez slicing his K rate in half? His tendencies haven't changed much, he's just making more contact. He's a legit starter for our future if he can maintain it.
  7. The playoffs will be easy to make.

  10. Their second best pitcher (by WAR) has an xFIP over 6. At this point, it might be a surprise if their pitching staff (-0.6 WAR) manages to be replacement level. For reference, the worst pitching staff of the modern era is the 2006 Royals at 0.5 WAR. That team included Rays pitching coach Kyle Snyder and superstar names like Jimmy Gobble, Brandon Duckworth, and Elmer Dessens. They pitched to old friend John Buck most of the time. The worst in baseball history is the 1915 Philadelphia Athletics at 0.3 WAR. It will be a fun race to watch.
  11. I'm not seeing 50 home runs in his future, but that plate discipline is out of this world.
  12. I love how these young Jay's don't give a damn whether they are in the Trop or not. Their attitude is that these worthless ****s like Lowe can eat s***.
  13. This game is over if the umps in New York don't completely f*** up. There's no excuse for a call that incredibly bad, especially on a review where the correct call was made in the first place.
  14. Their starters ERA was recently over 7 so that's absolutely correct. I think Pivetta could be so much better than he has been, but he just can't get it together.
  15. Boston gets Nick Pivetta and Connor Seabold for the 2 relievers. I think it's a win for both sides if they put Pivetta in the rotation. He needs a chance to figure things out. Seybold was a fringe top 20 prospect for the Phils and could be a decent reliever some time.
  16. Hembree and Workman on their way to Philadelphia. I can't even imagine that staff minus 2 good relievers, just horrendous.
  17. Espinal can't be on this roster if he can't do the absolute basics of the game.
  18. Why is Espinal bunting with 2 strikes? Pinch hit if you think he is that bad.
  19. The outrageous blown call at home plate earlier might cost us the game. That would be par for the course in this house of horrors. The league will be a better place when games are never again played in the shithole known as Tampa Bay. That day can't come soon enough.
  20. I think I'd rather take on Jackie Bradley's salary if we identifying defense as the biggest need. Even with his large salary, I think we're talking less than 2 million for a month.
  21. What I mean to say is that we'd generally have to cut a productive veteran or cut a youngster that also needs development. There's not a ton of dead weight at this point.
  22. So much for definitive evidence. We always get burned on that ******** and now they overturn one with absolutely zero definitive evidence.
  23. By and large, there hasn't been a need for him to this point.
  24. There are very few obvious sell candidates on the obvious sell teams this year. The Giants have Drew Smyly and Tony Watson, while the Pirates and Mariners have pretty much nothing for impending free agents. This will get a lot of hate, but I'd honestly entertain a Kevin Pillar addition if it cost very little. If we do make any adds, I expect them to be of the multi year variety and a little under the radar.
