  1. Eddie Rosario gets 2/18 from the Braves No thanks, move on to the next target. Joc Pederson?
  2. He's on my opening day roster as things stand right now, with Kirk being the primary DH option.
  3. Conforto seems like a candidate for a 1 year deal. Do you consider him at 1/18 and give up the pick?
  4. If we more or less stand pat right now, you have to believe that there will be money available and there are certainly prospects available to fix any bullpen issues. I think we were truly willing to add a guy like Freeman and a 30 million dollar salary.
  5. It's Smith, Hoglund, Logue, and Snead as per Shi Davidi. Very reasonable in my opinion.
  6. You're thinking a trade for a reliever or some kind of OF/DH type?
  7. Schwarber gets 'just under' 4/80 according to Jayson Stark. That's a definite no for me, I'm glad we passed.
  8. It seems like we should still have money left since Chapman's salary is pretty reasonable. Does Kenley Jansen become the most reasonable remaining free agent to spend that money on?
  9. C- Jansen 1B- Guerrero Jr. 2B- Biggio 3B- Chapman SS- Bichette LF- Gurriel Jr. CF- Springer RF- Hernandez DH- Kirk Bench: Grichuk Espinal McGuire Needs: - A LH bat that can DH part time (Rosario, Pederson?) - More outfield depth, particularly someone who can play CF. I think we're looking pretty good. Team defense has been improved and the offense is probably still the league's best.
  10. I think that getting a left handed bat that can DH part time and pinch hit should be the team's top priority on the hitting side of things right now. Eddie Rosario is interesting to me.
  11. This is an absolutely stellar acquisition of my number 1 target going into the offseason. Our biggest concerns at the end of last season were the lack of a third baseman and poor team defense/general run prevention. The impact that a a gold glove third baseman will have on this team can't be overstated. Some will being up his handedness, but it needs to be noted that this team led the league in OPS against right handed pitchers last year. Chapman himself has identical splits against RHP and LHP. A lefty bat would be nice, but this addresses far more issues. A Biggio/Espinal tandem at 2B will be really solid in my opinion.
  12. Not so clear now. They got Chapman and rumour is that the talks with Schwarber have cooled.
  13. A third baseman should be the main focus. The need for a DH is present, but is far down the priority list.
  14. Brad Miller to Texas
  15. He was worse with the Yankees than he was with the Cubs, believe it or not. I think they would have been better off keeping Luke Voit and spending the money elsewhere.
  16. I think that's unlikely at his age and with underlying metrics mostly supporting his decline at the plate and in the field.
  17. This makes me happy. Rizzo hasn't been an especially good hitter or fielder for 2 years now and he'll be 33 this year. The Yankees paying 15 million to get someone who isn't really an upgrade on Luke Voit is good for us.
  18. Joey Votto and Tyler Naquin for Randal Grichuk and Kevin Smith. Who says no?
  19. I think there's a strong market for DH's and he will get at least 4/60.
  20. It's undoubtedly better than a Manfred Man on second base.
  21. I have nothing to back this up, but it feels like Freeman has a preferred destination that he's either trying to get a better offer from or is waiting for them to make a corresponding move.
  22. Ernie Johnson said it didn't apply to outdoor sports on Inside the NBA. That was my source, sorry for the mistake.
  23. Does anyone want ties in baseball? There's never been an issue with how baseball games are decided. It's worked extraordinarily well for over 100 years.
  24. Most transactions seem to get done during working hours. I just think we all expected a bit more to happen, it was a bit of a joke.
  25. So who else had 'Pirates sign Dan Vogelbach' as the biggest transaction of the day?
