  1. Perhaps this allows them to attach a pitcher to Hosmer's contract. They don't even have room for Manaea in their rotation.
  2. I'll be adding an extra wish for your day!
  3. Agreed, thank you!
  4. It feels weird asking for a spring training win as my birthday wish, but at least it's the Yankees. Go Jays!
  5. I agree. I'd be shocked if this weren't the case. Our position player group is very strong and a 5th man on the bench wouldn't serve a useful purpose.
  6. Cito controls BABIP of his players by telling them to pull the ball and being mean to them. I'll let Olerud explain the details.
  7. It's easy to say we had a good team and should have won, but he was the right man for the job and received universal praise from his players. People just like to look back with today's analytic view and trash him, but he did an A+ job with what he had
  8. He gets really bad reads at any position, but covers an awful lot of ground once he gets going. They don't really show enough in spring training broadcasts to be able to tell.
  9. We've been linked to Tyler Mahle and that still makes some degree of sense. Michael Brantley and Jake Odorizzi could be targets at the deadline (unlikely) or in free agency.
  10. I don't think they could have set it up any better.
  11. The narrative has already been formed and the pitchforks are out. What you actually said no longer matters. That has been demonstrated time and time again on this forum. I have doubts that a 14 AB sample in spring training is a useful predictor of future performance as well.
  12. I'm curious what Greg Bird's exit velocities are and whether it is really wise to base an opinion off of 3 games worth of at-bats against minor league pitchers.
  13. Maybe it was like a John McDonald trade where he got traded for himself as a PTBNL.
  14. The Cardinals are currently beating the Nats 27-4 in the 8th inning. It's spring training I know, but wow.
  15. If he proves to be a capable CF in AAA then some playing time may open up, but otherwise I don't think we see him in the big leagues this year.
  16. Number 9 for bullpen, which is pretty bullish, pun intended.
  17. That's a bit of a rare combination to find. I was pretty keen on Tyler Naquin as a CF option, but we had to take on Tapia's salary as part of moving Grichuk, so he's not really a fit any more. I guess for now we roll without a capable backup CF and try to address that need during the season if it arises. Maybe we bring up Palacios if Springer hits the IL.
  18. I don't know that I have ever gotten one of these bold predictions correct, but hopefully some day.
  19. That doesn't strike me as a particularly bold prediction.
  20. Hatch, Kay, and Palacios mildly surprising first cuts.
  21. I think David Phelps gets one of the spots over Merryweather or Vasquez, both of whom have options.
  22. Matt Chapman will return to form and garner top 5 MVP votes.
  23. They just removed him from the official roster on the Blue Jays website so it seems that our mystery is solved.
  24. He's been spending too much time with his brother Johnnie.
  25. That just shows that he was assigned to camp like a whole bunch of other players. It does not show that he was added to the 40 man roster.
