  1. 100 pitches every five days or so as a max really isn't bad. Unlike lower levels, mlb guys don't spend the off-season firing off their best fastballs everyday. It's more about conditioning with them
  2. I think I read an article where Bundy threw like 300 pitches in 2 days or something crazy like that
  3. Yeah but by your own opinion it only makes sense that making that violent motion a lot more often could only greatly increase the risk of problems. So you really don't disagree with him. In the US, travel baseball has boomed in the last generation even from when I was 12 over 20 years ago. Read the bios of Mickey Mantle and all those guys (even later) and they basically grew up playing in sandlots and such. Maybe a little league as well..tournament season my 11yo son can play 30+ games a month. Even in the off-season he's practicing pitching indoors at bb facilities. So when you do that over many years.. Like in a Dylan Bundy's case.. I can buy the argument. James Andrews is on record I believe for a similar argument actually..cases of high school pitchers getting the surgery has skyrocketed
  4. Yeah this would be a possible solution. If mlb provided something. You can't allow players to put anything on themselves because you run into the risk that they're using something to manipulate the ball instead of gripping it better
  5. I didn't know that..jeesum..obviously they torched the casual fan base last year I guess I thought fans came out in force last April but idk
  6. Yeah I believe a lot of ppl disliked it not because of thinking Gomes would be good... but it didn't make sense with Jays depth structure.. I know I disliked it
  7. We're all amateurs though with limited info to work from, its not our career or what we get paid big bucks for.. you can question the org even if you didn't see it coming.. that said, of course all orgs will miss at times.. just Jays don't seem to have many "hits" to balance it out
  8. What a joke.. how often do you see the NFL and NBA putting this all over the front page.. what a self-righteous d-bag
  9. wow.. Im sure this has to come from what they see outside of gameday.. they surely didn't base a deal like that on last season.. you wouldn't think anyway
  10. When I said "WC team at least" .. I meant I saw them as a WC team.. Not that they were a bonafide division champ squad that would "at least be a WC".... I was going to edit that as I saw the double meaning but obviously didn't. Anyways, I don't think they need everything to right to get to the WC but sure, they can't have a lot of flop years/injuries like most teams. I do think they have BOS upside though if that rotation kills it
  11. I always liked Clay B (went off the board to draft him in L3). I always thought he had swing and miss stuff that would develop so I wasnt shocked there. He also got hurt like he was supposed to. The only surprise on the entire staff to me was Lackey.. That was way out of left field..other than that..no big suprise really.
  12. Still take NY defensively at C. 1b, OF as a whole for sure (NY CF/LF >> Jays) Jays better at SS but hardly good there, 3rd base and possibly 2nd.. We dont even know who will play 2b. RG might not make more than 20 starts before eating sent down for MI, if he even starts that ia
  13. Salaries aside.. I'd take Tex over Lind, whoever over RG and MI.. But Reyes over DJ even if healthy and Lawrie over KJ.. but there aren't any huge blowouts anywhere. OF goes to NY. DH Jays but NY will be solid there. I just think NY's pitching is better on the average day and they also have way more upside Oh and C is also big NY win
  14. Yeah, I see them as the second tier WC type team that has the squad to make the postseason..but sure, ita hardly in the bag. I just said the same of Boston last year. Didn't think they were best in baseball though
  15. I think people are making same mistake writing off NY like they did BOS last year. CC, Tanaka, Kuroda, Nova, Pineda has high potential.. Still have backemd BP guys Lineup has McCann, Jacoby, Beltran, Gardner, Soriano.. Jeter and Tex may contribute It's a playoff team (WC at least)
  16. Too late for me.. cant tell if its a troll post. Bed time:)
  17. I guess if you have to play it as red or black, you have to go with the over as that's the likely scenario.. however, if the follow up question was "is it big wager worthy", I would choose "no"
  18. Wow.. never heard of ootp.. I will prob google.. but anyone up for answering some questions? 1) You can simulate games quickly w/o having to watch them, right? 2) Computer AI is decent in terms of trades? (better than Xbox/PS) 3) How do prospects develop, realistic ratio? (I know in 2K top prospects develop extremely slow if at all..and I heard in SHOW they always develop, which is equally gay)
  19. I f***ed up that quote.. As far as Wallace goes.. I just mentioned his ceiling as a hypothetical possibility.. which was in line with a lot of write-ups.. Grant was the one on record championing him as a special bat..lol
  20. Hand is up:) No doubt a classic
  21. Oh.. yeah I wasn't considering that.. some chicks balloon right up.. my wife just had the belly
  22. I just googled.. for most people's standards.. she's fat..
  23. Yeah, I had a long thread on the other board saying I didn't like it. I didn't mind moving him.. just didn't like how AA went off the board with Gose as he seemed just like any other 1st/2nd round draft pick.. not like there was any evidence of his superior scouting.. would've liked to see him moved for a young mlb player or someone closer to ml ready.. felt like a backwards move
  24. Is JC hot? I cant tell from the small pic and shes not worth looking up
