  1. That’s what I get for smack talking before season. Lost my starting PG for the season, Porter Jr out 2 additional weeks now Thompson going into Covid protocol to make it 4 key players for me. Time to play my violin. Nobody else is dealing with this s*** I see

Pretty sure that’s the consensus on Watson. Fwiw I saw an article from a guy that covers the Texans and he said the team was quick to put the kibosh on the whole thing, saying they wouldn’t trade him even if he asked I guess the only scenario I can think of if he was hell bent on leaving is if you really like a rookie QB like Fields or the BYU kid (going to assume Jax is content with Lawrence) and then added like 3 future 1st round picks. Even then would be iffy
  3. Made it to 93, not too shabby. Prob bought himself 20+ years with more healthy life choices
  4. If nobody else is offering 5/115-125 Jays would be in a good spot. I agree with others though that prob a couple other teams enter the mix at that point and then you get into a thing where Toronto has to beat it somehow for the Canada factor... In any case, it’s encouraging news that Mets could very well be out of the running
  5. Just pure speculation but could be the reason Springer was intent on testing FA in the first place was because he didn’t like what HOU was offering. If they offered say $115m and he was looking for $180m, talks would break down quick. If the numbers stay low, they could be a player. Not like his time there was tumultuous- scandal aside
  6. Makes sense I guess. Prob wanted at least $20m more in the states to make the life transplant worth it
  7. Teams posture. You don’t know someone like Boston is out of it at a reasonable price. If Springer doesn’t get what he hoped, maybe he settles back with Astros who offered something like 5/120 and he laughed at them... you don’t know. Not every team is a cock tease like the Jays
  8. Oh, so you know what each front office has to spend? Ever think of going pro ala ESPN or something?
  9. Well... yes but I would say in “someone’s favor”.. wouldn’t be so bold to say Jays
  10. Yeah but 5/125 was pretty much a fair projection. Basically this is saying he got greedy with the Mets like JTR did and they both may have cost themselves $25-40m
  11. By that, sounds like Springer did a JTR move
  12. Yeah you’d have to imagine they’d want Bo coming back as headliner so it’d be kinda pointless
  13. Doubt that it gets it done but I don’t think there’s anything insulting about 5/115 as an initial offer. So maybe they go to $130 at the most, likely 5/125 though. Not sure if there’s any dark horses. All you see if there’s only 2 teams in the mix but not everyone wants to let the world know their business like the Jays

There’s no way he’s going anywhere unless it’s an other-worldly package beyond just multiple 1st round picks. If he wants to be traded he’ll just have to suck it up. Maybe him and Harden are buds or something?
  15. Lindor extension now seems to lack upside. He most likely wants huge star pay now, so he if has really good season price won’t really go up much. On the flip, if he’s ho-hum again it might give them pause to sign an 8-10yr deal If he’s really good for the Mets and meshes well, its unlikely anyone would outbid Mets for his FA contract
  16. Hopefully that eases them off Springer..a little at least Prob will follow the SD footprint though. Bastards
  17. It was still only 40+ innings (120IP or so full season pace). So not an automatic assumption he’d sustain the K rate in larger sample. He was less hittable for sure. Positive direction but he making $16-17m now so he’s got something to prove. I’d think the board would be disappointed to this point with the signing of he was Jay. IMO at least. Though admittedly it’s still salvageable with the options and such if he gets it going
  18. If Jays don’t get one of Tanaka/Paxton/Odorizzi- I hope they stay away from Sugano. Sign Sugano as the 2nd SP and I’d like it but sounds like he won’t be cheap (relatively speaking)
  19. What would a Lindor trade w/o an extension look like?
  20. They still only won 50+ games the next season too. So point still stands it was the end of an era and don’t really remember how it all went down. That’s all I was saying

Football QB is nuts though. I just saw an article today with Adam Schefter saying Washington was a potential landing spot for Cam and he estimates the deal would be up to 2/50 with incentives. Yuck. Cam looked cooked in terms of passing

    Actually he makes a s*** ton of money. I wasn’t considering that. I still think he’ll nab a 2nd. We’ll see.

No... at this point I think it’s broken beyond repair. I just meant I could understand how some people might think he was still the best QB there. Lesser unproven QBs have returned 2nd in the last couple years, no way he goes for less than that. Patriots again, for instance, would be nuts not to give up a 2nd for him at least. Heck even the Redskin, though they wouldn’t trade him within the division

I’m not sure Wentz situation is cut and dry but I can agree he was horrendous this year. Should be noted he was minus weapons but I watched a few games and he was really, really bad. But not like Hurts is Trevor Lawrence. So do you toss a QB that was really good before this year and had 1 really bad season (this goes for all sports)? I think at this point you kind of have to in this situation. I could see a team like the Patriots offering a late 1st though.

To me, considering you had a really bad QB situation already, you put gas on the flame by pulling Jalen. Is he your QB or is it Wentz? That ending did not help the situation. If you want them to back Sudfeld that also means they can’t have Jalen’s back and be upset that he got pulled. Can’t have it both ways. You already had locker room division from people that thought Wentz should be the guy. To me it was a giant clusterf*** of a situation and reports are confirming some of that. I’m not dismissing what you’re saying but just in that time and place I do it different
