  1. Its an odd fit for a team supposedly up against their spending limit with serviceable guys on the 40 man Which is why I asked - would you make this trade if you thought you *only* had a 30% chance at Sasaki? I kind of doubt it but 🤷‍♂️
  2. Right? That’s a lot for Bradley Zimmer
  3. 5M bucks this year and next for Straw Would you make this deal if you had a 30% chance at Sasaki?
  4. Do you know how many 7-8 WAR seasons have come from 1B over the last decade? Three
  5. Shoot id hate it if all he did was put up 160 wRC+ and 5 WAR seasons It would be way better to watch him stretch singles into doubles and throw out runners at third on the wheel play
  6. Sorry I should’ve said the dodgers have 15 major league calibre starters on their 40 man or 60 day DL
  7. Personally I only care about him putting up 160 weighted runs created plus and 5 WAR
  8. I think it’s an overreaction to say signing Vlad to a 500M or whatever would be franchise crippling Vlad’s expected numbers have always been elite elite. He was just a launch angle adjustment away from becoming Yordan Alvarez. Then he did it in 2024 He has been as durable as anybody despite the criticism of his body. His athleticism is actually underrated and he just posted the best sprint speed data of his career I might be talking myself into a 12/450 contract
  9. How much is there really to negotiate? Vlad has no incentive to sign unless he gets like 90% of what he wants This is a very long tenured relationship. You aren’t negotiating with some agent for the first time. If they waltz into ST with no deal and Vlad on the team he’s walking for a comp pick almost certainly
  10. Well now I have to agree with Jim lol A Sasaki signing would influence your spending because you just added an ace at league minimum and you probably try and legit compete If you miss out on him it might make sense to stay away from long term commitments
  11. You aren’t missing anything Jim is arguing that they won’t sign Bregman if they don’t secure Sasaki But you haven’t mentioned anything about anyone other than Sasaki
  12. Haha I was going to say the same thing. Wait until you see the win total guesses here. This is an 86 win team!
  13. Nothing matters now until Sasaki signs imagine signing Sasaki Trading Vlad for Vientos Signing Bregman Improved outlook for 2025 and beyond, improved infield defense and depth, without a 500M commitment with lots of cash coming off the books in the next two seasons
  14. No I don’t think so and nor should he. Giving opt outs requires a unique circumstance and Anthony Fuggin Santander is far from the type of player you give the ability to leave but guarantee the world Bregman is a better bet to provide more value in 25 and beyond for the same AAV just a longer commitment. He’s my choice if I have to sign one of these guys
  15. You guys are high He just plucks these prospects from FA and then trades them for first rounders don’t listen to them. Take Yordan and Bryce and then go and pick up Colt Emerson or something James Wood hits the ball on the ground like 50% of the time
