  1. An NAIA coach. I love how the game has evolved from the old boys club to seeking out the right person regardless of pedigree or status.
  2. I’m fine with getting two of these guys. Gibson was my favourite target, but Wood, Roark, Bailey, Gausman, Smyly, Cahill, etc are all guys who will help raise the floor of this currently terrible rotation.
  3. Your a retard Just dripping with irony
  4. Having employees within your organization who are sought after and given promotions within the industry is a net positive.
  5. I’d give Wheeler 5/110 and cough up the pick but he’ll probably cost more than that judging how the free agent market has been thus far
  6. They have like $70M on the payroll lol. To think the Jays can’t add ~40M is absurd. Another 14M comes off the books next year too.
  7. Me too, I don’t see it as an overpay at all. He’s been a durable starter who gets ground balls and has an elite slider so there is still some potential K upside. He was my number one realistic target for this team.
  8. Wow 3/30 for Gibson is a great contract for Texas. I would’ve given him at least another couple million a year to be in Toronto
  9. Your response was something something prospect boners like I’m projecting these two to become front end guys. I like the tail tuck though.
  10. Lol exactly. We disagree on a lot but you are one of the better posters when it comes to the Jays and the league.
  11. What’s wrong with Edwin at 1/10-15M? Who really cares at that point, as long as he’s healthy you’re gonna break even on the contract and he’s taking at bats from Rowdy who should be banished to AAA. Sign me up for bringing Edwin home.
  12. Why is he more likely to be a reliever? Because you said so? SWR will be a top 50 prospect if he has a good start to his season. This isn’t putting the cart before the horse, it’s having a brain and making educated guesses. If he dominates the minors again next year people will be calling for him to be in Toronto in September. Won’t happen, but a year from now people will pencil him into the rotation to make 20 starts like they currently are with Pearson. I’m not predicting he’s Walker Buehler like you seem to think.
  13. Tell me which evaluation is unreasonable
  14. Thomas Hatch and Espinal Santiago need to be added. Not sure about the rest
  15. 100%. Kay looks like he can be a back end guy and SWR has a great chance of shooting up top 100 lists this year. He’s the real prize, in a years time people will be pencilling him into the rotation the same way people are doing with Pearson now.
  16. Are people seriously confused why using cameras and technology to steal signs is generally more frowned upon than relaying signs from second? Yes Brownie, maybe in the MLB rule book it doesn't say it's illegal to plant a camera in CF, have it synced behind the dugout, and notify hitters whether or not a change up is coming by banging on garbage cans. But let common sense prevail and what do you think? Does that seem like something you would consider a punishable offense?
  17. That’s awesome! Congrats George
  18. Astros need to be punished heavily. Wouldn’t surprise me if we learned more as well. It goes against every moral fibre of the game.
  19. This team desperately needs a CF. Trading for Starling Marte would be an interesting option too.
  20. Gurriel is the first position player I’d move on this team to fill a need in the rotation. Doesn’t walk, K’s a bunch, allergic to the infield and can’t play CF. If someone is willing to give up a rotation piece I would be all over it. DP is pretty clearly saying replacing an average corner OF bat isn’t very difficult, and if you can move one for a long term rotation piece it probably makes sense to do so. Calhoun, Dickerson, Gardner, Avisail, make sense as FA. I don’t think LGJ as it stands today is a four or even three win player by any stretch.
  21. 100% on board moving LGJ. He’s like a 115 wRC+ corner outfielder. If that gets you a rotation arm you do it
  22. No it's not pretty but it has the potential to outperform at least and help the team be competitive without tying up a bunch of payroll like you said. That's exactly what I want to see happen this year. The guys they bring in don't really matter to me, they've all got warts and they're all within the same realm of talent level. I don't see the big fish coming to Toronto who just lost 90+ games when they'll be coveted by teams with a WS chance.
  23. I didn't say Homer Bailey is getting 3/45 lol I specifically said they will be looking at guys who require 2-3 year commitments at roughly 10-15M dollars. Obviously one year commitments are even better but it's hard to imagine Toronto being any starter's first choice on a one year deal. I'm confident you actually agree with me but chose to play semantics instead.
