  1. This is a good point. Foolhardy. I'm sure if they'd just started Panda and stayed quiet for a month or so, they would have been able to pawn of like ~80% of his salary on the Padres. s***, they probably could have gotten some sort of demented "bad contract swap" for James Shields if they wanted.
  2. Yikes. Good thing I forgot Christian Vazquez existed and called Swihart up literally two days ago. Why would they even entertain the idea of demoting him or having him switch positions? Just pretend that he's a stud and trade him if you think CV is better.
  3. Yeah he hit like 5 home runs in half a season and had a sub .800 OPS. Also the leg injuries seemed chronic. That was the point that I bought him in the DDL.
  4. Important to realize with Harris that as a 29th overall pick, there shouldn't be some long assumption that he's good. He doesn't "deserve" two years of rope. He's *basically* a 2nd rounder. Guys taken in his range of the draft fail to make the big leagues at like a 96% clip (I don't actually know the % but I imagine it's close to that). SO! - It's not irresponsible to assume that he's a bust already - You shouldn't be upset if he is a bust, because he wasn't taken that high... this isn't Deck McGuire at 11th overall Sure, they should have picked Cody Ponce or Austin Riley or whoever... but it's the MLB draft.
  5. Or even just give Smoak or Montero a month of PA's to see if they can figure something out.
  6. mmmm, breaking up RHB isn't as important as breaking up LHB. I don't think it matters. Absolutely should have Saunders leading off right now though since he seems to be hitting well.
  7. Yes. If I was a manager, none of my pitchers would be facing Donaldson (and everyone after him) more than twice (unless I have Kershaw). Those guys are just so insanely good. See a guy for a third time and it's like BP.
  8. TTOP is so evident right now with Eovaldi. He needs to be out of the game if you're the Yankees. Mistake!
  9. Stroman is worse than Sanchez Goins is bad at defense now Tulo is the team's worst hitter Martin's goose is cooked Shapiro is Americanizing the organization Gibbons is officially senile Cecil has declined Storen is damaged goods doomed!
  10. s***** thing about VV in redraft h2h leagues is that he'll get shut down well before the playoffs this season.
  11. BUY BUY BUY on Hunter Strickland in holds leagues
  12. I'm fine. JJ Hardy has a .379 wOBA right now and in AAA Trea Turner has a .689 wOBA with literally no strikeouts.
  13. BTS wouldn't trade me Betances for Gordon so this reference pleases me, especially in a world where Jose Reyes has been Wally Pipp'd and might never play baseball again.
  14. This is a bald faced lie. You're all business when it comes to fantasy baseball trades.
  15. Ok, so you lied before then. I have the email trail: ---Quote (Originally by Dr. Dinger)--- You're about to get Betts. ---End Quote--- Hmmm. Was this stated clearly, or are you inferring? ---End Quote--- It was strongly implied... but then he realized he's rebuilding and got cold feet. I never made an offer on Mookie so I'm indifferent. I don't know why he's even considering trading him, but whatever. ---End Quote--- Oh, so he was just running things by you? ---End Quote--- I guess he showed me your offer because I had a standing offer from him of Karns for Rondon, so I cancelled it so he could accept your offer. *************** Not that any of this matters. It's just an amusing piece of near DDL history.
  16. It's hard to hit home runs without hitting the ball hard, and in the air. It goes without saying that freaky HR streaks will go along with freaky FB and exit velo stats. I don't see much difference between what you just said and saying that somebody is hitting .400 because their BABIP is high. How long would batted ball profile and exit velocity take to stabilize?
  17. No, IIRC you actually told Dinger that you were going to accept it but then got cold feet and said "wait, I shouldn't be doing this".
  18. This would be an appropriate time to end the Yasiel Puig episode of Intervention. Puig is healthy and hitting again. All smiles. He's enrolling in school to become a sports psychologist and physiotherapist so that he can help others in need. Roll credits. Blake screen; white text: "Two months later, Yasiel pulled his hamstring and relapsed while on the DL. He was arrested for domestic violence shortly thereafter. The Dodgers are waiting on a ruling from Rob Mandfred"
  19. KK almost traded me Mookie Betts for Alex Gordon and Jon Niese last summer!
  20. You also own this cool guy: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/an-introduction-to-adam-conley/
  21. To use a blasphemous hockey analogy, your team is like the Edmonton Oilers. McDavid, Hall, Eberle and then basically no supporting cast. But yes. I'm very happy that you and Boxy have managed to field teams this year that will, at the very least, frustrate people. It's looking up. Gibbers might have the worst team in the league right now. His rotation is horrendous
  22. I think you should be aggressively shopping him right now. I wish I owned him in some league just to see what the profit point would be. The BB% will improve but it's not what will sink him in any event. BB rate is just a buffer against shittiness. It's the lack of contact that will doom him eventually. Although, being a SS helps. Is Brandon Wood his best comp?
  23. You're happy with what he's doing??? His peripherals are terrible and you're losing to the Jean Segura Lites right now anyway, so it's not like you're riding the luck wave to mad points or anything. He's displaying contact skills that would be amongst the worst in baseball in a full season and he's also not walking at all. Offensively, he looks like Mike Zunino with a horseshoe up his ass. But I mean, Mike Zunino in Coors might have been a good fantasy player.
