  1. Terminator, Jim, and Dick Pole seem to all be in agreement then and I’m not sure why anybody needs to fling mud at beloved Jim. Look at his middle paragraph!!
  2. Well he also has injury-based injury concern. Lots of little arm/elbow s*** over the last couple of years. 2017 - 74 IP - elbow inflammation twice 2018 - 176 IP - I don't remember any injury but he might have missed a bit of time? 2019 - 107 IP - wrist thing late and elbow tendinitis early
  3. Barves lose! Seemed like a popular pick

It's very inaccessible. Many stupid little arbitrary rules. Why do offsides even exist now? The playing surface is sufficiently small, and the players are so fast now, that it just seems kind of stupid. It does not help improve the flow of play, like the over-and-back rule does in basketball. Now that they review offsides and take goals away it just seems extra f***ing dumb. Just remove the stupid blue lines and give the offensive team half the ice to play with.

Absolutely. It's like a different sport in the playoffs. Shootouts are the worst. They should just drop down to 1-on-1 until someone scores, lol. That's at least closer to hockey than a shootout.
  6. It is October, lol. Fantasy baseball season is over for most brains.
  7. Sounds like the WTPHDL needs a..... Yexit?

I think the rules are what does it in for me. Reviewing offsides is so annoying. I can't stand penalties for accidentally putting the puck out of play. I hate the random stuff like the goalie trapezoid. I miss hitting and fighting! Every big hit is an automatic penalty.

Hockey is such a terrible sport now. I don’t get it
  11. All first round picks are "protected" now.
  12. It's realistic, at least. And much less gross than 2019. And if you dislike Gibson and Bailey there are a dozen other players of similar quality or cost who you can sub in, at your preference. Homer had a surprisingly strong season though. Also, the opener could easily be much more effective than one or two of the traditional starters above the opener slot in the Blue Jays SP hierarchy. Yes, of course we'd all like a 1 and a 2 with more ultimate upside, like Zach Wheeler or Dallas Keuchel. Perhaps someone like Keuchel would come to Toronto on a reasonable deal. Maybe a grizzled veteran like Hamels or Rich Hill could be enticed to Toronto.
  13. I think a player can only receive a QO once in their career now. So Ryu won't get one. Reminder - teams don't lose first round picks anymore for signing a QO player. There are three categories of potential pick loss, based on luxury tax history and whether the signing team receives revenue sharing. If the Blue Jays sign a QO player they would lose their second rounder + $500,000 from their international kidnapping / human-trafficking fund. Of course, it would still suck to lose a high 2nd round pick. Toronto has made some really nice picks recently in the late first, second, third rounds. Bo was 66th overall! Big Nate was almost a 2nd rounder!
  14. Loved to hear Buck and Pat wax poetic every day of the second half about how Derek Law had pitched himself onto the 2020 roster. 5.28 xFIP in the second half!!!
  15. Hard to say what it means though. Their higher payrolls were mostly due to trades and extensions. It's not like Toronto made a whole lot of big free agent signings. What does that reference mean to the 2020 offseason? It's not exactly clear. Thornton in AAA is supa dumb. At the worst, he's #6 on the SP depth chart and in the pen to start the year, getting bulk innings.
  16. No they don't.
  17. Crazy that Grichuk lost nearly 1 WAR this year due to defense and baserunning.
  18. Maybe spell his name right first?
  19. I think this happens sometimes when they roll the league over. They tend to fix it over the offseason.
