    I think if Toronto wants to be the high bidder and give him the richest pitching contract in baseball history then he'll come to Toronto. At this point you have to imagine that the high bidder will be giving him the Price/Scherzer contract + some inflation and it will set a SP record. They won't do that and they probably shouldn't do that so at some point it becomes silly to even talk about it.

    I know you are mostly just a troll, but this is not a great point. There is a huge difference between adding someone like Cole to the 2015/2016 team that was already bloated with old players and veteran contracts on top of a thin farm and adding someone like Cole to a lean and mean 6-7 year team like the current Blue Jays appear to be.

    The nice thing about prospects is that it's almost always at least somewhat realistic to hope for big improvements. Look at Trent Grisham (Clark) for instance - dude hit .230 with no power for three straight seasons and then in 2019 looked like an elite prospect with all of the tools. Kevin Smith's 2018 showed that he has the tools. His 2019 showed that he is, like Justin Trudeau, just not ready. Can he recover or will his professional career be tarnished by the blackface of his 2018 stats? Who knows!

    I don’t think your point is even remotely fair. Hicks had more WAR in the 2/3 of a season before his stinker than Brandon Drury has in his whole career.

    Once in a lifetime opportunity here!!!!! The oldest running message board dynasty league that matters is in need of one new owner! The Darrell Dynasty League is what it's called. It's named from an inside joke with a dead umpire, I think. The team you would be taking over is stacked and won the league three times in the last five years. We play on Fantrax and it's a 7x7 head to head league with minor league rosters and stuff. YOU will be not a nincompoop, preferably a frequent poster, and preferably a smart fantasy baseball player. Send a resume to Boxcar's DMs and he will pick the lucky person.

    With four people left, all having one loss, I have a basic 25% chance to win. Most baseball games are near coin-flips and all of us are smart enough people so winning will just be whoever is left after a bunch of coin-flips. Even if the Rays only have a 35-40% chance to win today, if I am the only person to pick them this may be the best opportunity to elevate my chance to win from here on out. Makes sense to me but I may be overthinking it.

    Quick sucks. I don't think any team is going to see him as an upgrade, so with years left on his contract he should be nearly unmovable unless some funny stuff happens. Maybe a bad contract swap if some team's starting tender goes down?

    Bringing in Kershaw mid-inning was a bad call - there were multiple good relievers in the pen who are used to coming in without a fresh inning. No idea why Joe Kelly was the first reliever up after Maeda. He was probably the ~fifth best RP on their playoff roster?
