  1. Okay so the vote passed very quickly. Summary of the major changes: - Starting in 2021 the league will be a true dynasty league - There will be no MLB roster cutdown; you keep all of your players forever - Roster limitations will now carry through the offseason - You can make MLB add/drops in the offseason - We will no longer have a waiver draft and a prospect draft - We will have one "New Player Draft" in February(ish) every year, like in the LOD - Our first NPD will be in 2021 - The 2021 draft will be weak because the 2020 amateur draft will have already been picked over by our league. Keep this in mind when acquiring 2021 draft picks. - In 2020 we will still have our two drafts. We need to track the picks for both drafts on a spreadsheet for 2020. We can't use Fantrax for tracking the 2020 draft picks because we can't leave the draft "unfinished" after the start of the season - apparently that would f*** up the league. Not a big deal for one year but another reason switching to one NPD before the season helps. Some possible other changes and things to be decided: - We could exclude 2020 J2 (international) players from our 2020 summer draft in order to add a few interesting names to the weak 2021 NPD - We could expand to 26 man rosters to mirror the MLB and do that at the start of the 2021 NPD, freezing free agency at the time. People could then use a draft pick on a 26th MLB player, making the weak 2021 draft a bit more interesting. - We could expand minor league rosters a bit since we are becoming a true dynasty and we are not as concerned about parity and player turnover. - We may be able to use Fantrax's live online draft room tool for the NPD. You can set the clocks to 12 hours if you want. It automates emails to people and you can leave a queue in the draft room to pick for you as soon as you are up. It sounds promising but I haven't tried it. - We may have to rethink our rules around adding free agents, eligibility to be added based on level if prior year, and MLB debut additions. - We may mess with the draft lottery to provide no incentives to tanking going forward.
  2. Late on this but a great trade by eze to get Smith, Didi, and SWR for Ozuna.
  3. One idea to make the 2021 draft not as terrible would be to declare the 2020 J2 players ineligible for our 2020 summer draft. That would add a small group of relevant players to the 2021 draft. It would not diminish the 2020 draft by much at all.
  4. Not in the league but you should probably walk away from the broken deal and sell those two dudes individually for more
  5. Yeah it’s business as usual for 2020 — the only real difference for people to keep in mind is when they are dealing with/for 2021 picks in trade those picks aren’t necessarily as valuable as draft picks usually are, because the most recent MLB draft prospects will already have been picked over by our 2020 prospect draft. And the 2021 new player draft will be just like the LOD so it will include the future Tsutsugos and Akiyamas. It’s undecided how we will handle guys like Lindblom... we may or may not handle them the same as the LOD does
  6. BTS you accidentally sent your email to the DDL
  7. Don’t need an addendum. If the vote passes then we’ll just impose any necessary lesser rule changes to make everything make sense
  8. And it will suck for everyone, right. So it’ll suck but be fair. There’s also a few months of additional minor league data and offseason prospect rankings that will make a good number of prospects rise up
  9. I am serious and think this is something we should do. Making a poll.
  10. We could think about turning the DDL into an actual dynasty league. No more cut deadline and waiver draft, just a year round 25 man roster, dynasty style. It could function like the LOD but a 20 team version with our scoring categories and smaller farms. Big changes sure but I would invite them. Our "waiver draft" is kind of stupid lol.
  11. Anyone know if having our "offline draft" as incomplete for half of the year will affect whether or not the league will actually function? I'm a bit worried that without "finishing the draft" the league will just not work right. If that's the case we might need to track the June draft picks manually for this summer and then move to a comprehensive NPD to replace the Wavier and MiLB drafts for 2021.
  12. The point of the lottery isn’t to incentivize losing, it’s just to distribute better assets to the worst teams for the sake of long term parity.
  13. lol there are no payrolls here; everyone is trying to win, some are just bad at it.
  14. I've given 3-14 and 4-14 to Dinger and 3-17 and 4-17 to z3r0s, which seems like the correct solution.
  15. No they f***ing don't you goddamn tricycle. Playoff seeding is not the standings.
  16. No, but it won't factor into the picks on Fantrax anyway. We just slide the comp pick into our list when we do the draft.
  17. I think I have updated the picks correctly. The only thing I can't reconcile are picks 3-14 and 4-14. There is a Fantrax trade that has them going from orgfiller to zeros, but these should be Dinger's picks and I can't find a record of him ever dealing them to orgfiller. Is it possible 3-14 and 4-14 should still be Dingers and Orgfiller meant to deal different 3rd and 4th rounders? Please advise accordingly. This might have been caused by a problem with the pick order when the league was initially set up. Everyone else please check your stupid picks.
  18. No. Winner picks 20th, the lottery decides 1-5, but everything else is final regular seasons standings. Honestly Spanky, just log off and have a beer.
  19. Not sure why I thought you won! Pathetic. I messed up when doing the new 2020 pick allocation then. Will fix later.
  20. It sounds promising, but we'd have to put draft amalgamation to a vote so at best this is a change for down the road.
  21. Okay, I guess Norris counts. I don't think Jeff was quite there. Barreto was a backend top 100 prospect with helium when the trade happened.
  22. switched it back to an offline draft it looks like the 2021 picks that had already been dealt are still recorded? the 2020 picks are just in the standings + lottery order. we will have to pick through and fix for all the trades that have happened. Not that much work since it's all on the spreadsheet, less any trades that happened since Fantrax but those would be in our emails and or the transaction history.
  23. Neat idea but I don't want to pursue it right now. Doing the waiver draft stuff manually is not a big deal; picks don't get traded that often and we have all the time in the world in February. I think people like having the prospect draft in the summer, it's kind of nice to have it in the context of the real life draft.
