  1. It’s a bit of both but there’s a difference between saying “you’re an idiot because that opinion about baseball is horrendous” and “you’re an idiot because you’re a libtard”. There’s a right time for the former on a baseball forum but the latter is strictly negative on the culture
  2. This is specifically why I took a long hiatus from the message board this year. This is very welcome and long overdue. Those political threads were consuming the board, spilling over into most other threads, and causing deep rifts between active members. There are an infinite number of places on the internet to talk politics - a Toronto Blue Jays message board does not need to be one.
  3. Funny, I just googled it and saw that Jim Callis himself put an 80 on Bryant's raw power in 2013. I'm sure their in-context grades would be about the same but maybe Torkelson would be perceived as having a more elite eye/approach.
  4. Nobody was putting 60 hit 80 power grades on Trout or even Harper at the time of the draft though. Future 80 for Harper but he needed time to develop. I think that’s what Callis would clarify his point as - best offensive talent as scouted on present grades at the time of the drafts. It’s a stupid little needle but I’m sure that’s what he was thinking
  5. There's what he typed and what he meant - not necessarily the same thing. Callis probably just means best present offensive talent (hit/power) at the time of the draft. Being said, I'm not even sure there is separation between Torkelson and Andrew Vaughn.
  6. Technically would have had to promote Handsome at our cut deadline as extra picks were supposed to be eliminated then. This was our last draft under our old rules with a cut deadline. In all future new player drafts you can just promote or cut when your picks come up, I think. That's how the LoD does it and it works a bit better from an administrative perspective.
  7. You’re right I guess. He wasn’t able to make that final pick so that minor league guy needs to be dropped
  8. I did it but you are a commissioner yo. You need to move one MiLB player to your bench
  9. Fuuuuuuuck I have some good prospects now. The Two Year Plan.
  10. It shows up as a violation but enforcement is turned off. This prevents people from demoting players without green flags, but it doesn’t penalize people for not calling up a player who loses a green flag
  11. I dunno, 95% of the time people just play their players. There would be some rare scenarios where benching a SP might help in one and hurt in the secondary matchup. Strategy
  12. Huh. Seems like a great way to make the season less random and balance out a "longer" schedule.
  13. Anyone notice this option in Fantrax? "Number of matchups each team plays each scoring period:" You can play two or more people at once! Not going to use it for the DDL but the LoD might want to.
  14. Ah I see. Actually hurl is done too. Never added Miguel Hiraldo. That means Dinger picks to fill out his minor league roster and then we are done.
  15. Nothing quite like seeing your favourite team's generational franchise wunderkind immediately reveal himself as a tub-of-lard who specializes specifically and only in hitting balls very hard straight into the ground

  17. New rule effective immediately and applying to all future New Player Drafts: if you have back-to-back picks you only get one window I will take Peyton Burdick
  18. I'm definitely not giving cat butt a window here. I'm making my pick within the hour if he hasn't and we are moving on. Read a list, yo.

  20. Removing some picks for people who are full now and really not many left to make here. Check your own roster though and make sure I didn't remove a pick you can make, or leave up a pick you can't make. Only ~11 picks being made in rounds 4 through 6, lol. Hard to churn over MiLB rosters with no new data! 21. Puke emoji Two catchers and a high school arm!
  22. BTS has a full roster I think, despite the list Jim posted above. Means Jimbo should be up. Check B’s roster though
  23. I was back and forth between Stiever and Dunning. I imagine you were too before I picked
