  1. I did run the lottery using the above ^ but won't reveal it unless it seems like everyone is cool with this method.
  2. This will be the weighting order for the 2021 draft lottery: The 12 non-playoff teams simply have their 2020 and 2019 win percentages combined. 50-50 weighting on each season. The lottery odds will be very flat. I have not decided exactly how to do it, but the teams near the top here should not exactly expect to have a high pick. We are going to draw for every pick too. So, teams near the top could fall back several picks. Playoff teams will just be slotted in the order of their final playoff standings, 2020 win % as a tiebreaker if needed. For the odds, easiest thing to do is just something like, truncate or round at 3 decimal points and give teams a number of balls equal to the difference between 1 and their combined win %. So Spanky would get 602 balls and FTD would get 481
  3. The scheduler god (Fantrax randomization) f***ed you over.
  4. I believe I selected whole league standings only. Divisions are irrelevant this year. The schedule was just randomized without divisional bias either
  5. Never heard of it but I’m excited for all of the team’s mediocre prospects to player develop like this
  6. Hey, the Blue Jays had an objectively valueless player magically turn into a contributor and you called me a "board heavyweight" so this is a win-win in my books.
  7. .390 wOBA for Tellez with nothing fishy under the numbers. Rowdy stole Vladdy's soul. Alright.
  8. Last day to trade! Or just to reject my trades, I guess. If anyone gets a deal done today but cannot propose it in Fantrax due to roster quirks, I will process it tomorrow (provided you could have validly done it yourself tomorrow). Both owners have to confirm before 1 AM EST, no exceptions at all.

Yeah Toronto played great aside from Siakam chucking a bunch of bricks from three point range. That it was was close just shows how good both teams are
  10. They are going to suck anyway. If they let him embarrass himself there is a small chance he might just retire early out of shame (he has talked about it) or at least instruct his agent to negotiate a buyout so he can go home and pray.
  11. Adam Kloffenstein(total) sounds like the upgraded version of Adam Kloffenstein. Like Mecha-Godzilla. Total-Kloff. It makes sense that Kloff's numbers aren't eye-popping. Some seasoned minor league veterans in that league and guys with MLB time.
  12. Bichette and Giles back at the same time will be HUUUUuuuUGGGGe
  13. There is no demon. They are playing baseball successfully outside of a bubble and ratings are good. You'll live if the odd series gets postponed. You don't have to read what everyone with an opinion is saying on Twitter about sports and Covid. Not everything in life is a battle of ideals. Shut up and watch!
  14. They are playing baseball successfully, outside of a bubble, and TV ratings are healthy. Suck farts.
  15. Bautista's eye allowed him to reach an offensive ceiling that Teoscar will never touch. Other than that, we might be seeing the start of a similar story although Teoscar is even a couple years younger than Bautista was when he became good. Honestly, JD Martinez might be a better ultimate ceiling comp for Teoscar's offensive profile than Bautista. Of course, JDM was another Astros reject... hmmmmmm!!!!
  16. He's so young. It's annoying but he gets a full mulligan from me on boneheaded stuff for this year, and maybe even for next year. The guy was too good at hitting to stay in the minors so we are basically watching Vlad's entire professional baseball development happen in the big leagues. Nobody else on the team gets any breaks though. Bunch of clowns on the bases.
  17. Yeah Shaw is getting completely owned by average fastballs. It is evident in the data and with the eyes. If you look at 2015 to 2020, his wOBA and xwOBA against fastballs falls off a cliff in 2019. That seems to be the problem - one of those "fell off a cliff" declines in bat speed. Sad. wOBA against FB - year 2015 - .406 2016 - .325 2017 - .385 2018 - .393 2019 - .267 2020 - .271 (xwOBA .288)
  18. It seems cheap to blame Manfred for inevitable stuff like this. Digital ads aren't even new to baseball. Has there not been a green screen behind the batter at Rogers Centre since before Manfred? It used to bug the s*** out of me because there was a bit of tearing/artifacts on the feed around the moving batter.
  19. Trade deadline on Sunday. Rob Manfred is focusing on trading some good prospects/youth for reliable talent, ideally 30 or younger. I want my roster to grow up a bit via trade. I would like to move 2-4 "prospects" for 1-2 young veterans. Open to discussing lots of valuable names: Victor Robles Josh Bell Manuel Margot Mitch Haniger Tarik Skubal Heston Kjerstad Jasson Dominguez Vidal Brujan Taylor Trammell Josh Lowe JJ Bleday Joey Bart Shane McClanahan Daniel Lynch Matthew Liberatore Reid Detmers Braden Shewmake Jonathan Bowlan Jonathan Stiever Johan Oviedo Andres Munoz Also open to discussing Matt Manning, Deivi Garcia, Sixto Sanchez, Austin Martin, Nolan Jones, and Andrew Vaughn but I would surprise myself if I end up actually trading any of them. I'm not getting email notifications probably as punishment for my sins. That means I don't think I can see any notes you type under a trade rejection. If you send me an offer let me know here and I will see it faster.
  20. Hatch is just hard to hit. Very unpredictable. A few weapons and he can do different things with them.
  21. It's a no-brainer. Smoak is a sunk cost on a one year deal. Vogelbach is pre-arb. Their projections are probably similar.
  22. I am suddenly not getting any email notifications from Fantrax. Can't understand why. Anybody else?
  23. Don't need him. Kirk is coming.
  24. Kirk is evidently and demonstrably just a different kind of offensive prospect. His production + age + K/BB rates paint a special picture. Nobody should be shocked if he hits immediately in the big leagues. This is our Juan Soto. Our fat little Soto.
  25. Yes. Sunday is the trade deadline! Then right into playoffs.
