  1. I lost Sale, McClanahan, and Taillon in the last two days. Yikes.
  2. What do you want to save him for? Those meaningful games in September!?
  3. Not sure if I agree. Placebo Polanco had average power at best.
  4. I think it's 100% true and verifiable by most people. Maybe genetics play a role and some would not see benefits. But when I don't eat breakfast and lunch because I'm trying to lose 5 pounds before my next orgy and am planning on having a 2000 calorie dinner that night, I tend to get hyper-focused at work in the afternoon. Just hunter-gathering these word documents and emails like a f***ing animal. Absolutely slaying phone calls and devouring people's organs over the phone.
  5. I'm the bad mod. Corrupt and on the take. Sent me some dogecoin and I'll ban whoever you want.
  6. I guess he sucks. Still always shocking to see an old big name get booted.
  7. Intermittent fasting is the easiest way to limit total calorie consumption, for most people. It's also a good sort of cold-turkey method to break habits like snack addiction. I feel like our bodies are sort of meant or designed to go without food for certain periods of time; I always feel a lot of mental clarity when I do something like time restricted eating. Cardio can be great solely because it's probably the easiest form of physical activity to get into and form habits. All you need is a pair of shoes. Alejandro Kirk if you are reading this, do whatever it is that you can stick to, man.
  8. Charlie has been doing pretty well lately. Using Dyson aggressively, other pinch running decisions, the defensive switches he has been making, most of the pitching decisions.
  9. Corbin was dropped???
  10. Fangraphs has the A's odds at just 10.9%. M's at just 5.5%. Sort of interesting that Boston's odds aren't just right there in the 50s or 60s with Toronto and Boston. Yeah they are 1 and 1.5 games up but Toronto is a better team. I guess you could say that Boston IS probably better than the Yankees. Toronto has FOURTEEN games left against the Orioles (45 wins) and Twins (62 wins). I guess the Twins could be an annoying team, they still have some talent; 6 or 7 good to decent hitters and a few spoilery arms like Joe Ryan and Bailey Ober.
  11. In his career, but not in 2018. Just take the L here, JimcLownuk
  12. I like the people on twitter shutting him up. Mike, actuary and masters degree in statistics here. This is exactly how playoff odds would change with less than a month left in season and a week of winning every game while other important teams lost a lot too. this is probably the dumbest thing i’ve ever read in regards to playoff odds etc. just a profound misunderstanding of odds shouted with a beating chest. no wonder this guy gets clowned so often It’s almost like every game is super important and the jays have gone an an insanely unlikely streak while the teams they are chasing have sucked? But should the odds algorithm or whatever it is not have understood that #Bluejays were just as good or better as the teams they were behind, just playing poorly, and those other teams weren’t going to be able to sustain the pace they’d set? That’s what I want from my math! (Mike) They did! Even when we were behind Oakland and Seattle record wise, we had a better chance of making the playoffs than them. Just getting back into position to make the playoffs was going to take a once in every 5 years streak and we still have plenty of work to do! (Mike does not respond, probably went to Little Caesars for their new Bacon Cruncher pizza)
  13. Yeah hard to say. It's v possible that if Ohtani came up from an American high school the system makes him give up pitching or hitting at some point.
  14. I dont think that's true though. He might end up comparable at hitting if you only look at WAR, but it may be that Ruth was half of the pitcher Ohtani was, in context. And if you look past WAR Ohtani's season on offense blows Ruth's out of the dirty water
  15. There are also non WAR reasons Ohtani is better. Ruth's 2018 was largely non descript... boring bulk SP innings in a relieverless era and an offensive season that looked nothing like prime Ruth.
  16. And the stats will show that this has never been done. Nobody has ever been this good at hitting and pitching at the same time. The WAR proves it. Babe was the closest for a couple of seasons but not as impressive. Sorry babe.
  17. So Ohtani is going to blow him out of the water when it's all said and done. Okay.
  18. Never did this. He did overlap hitting with pitching but not like Ohtani is now. Babe just kind of transitioned to hitting. 1919 was the closest but he didn't out up full time pitching stats, he wasn't even half of a SP by 1919 standards
  19. I guess Saucedo was just stretching or something lol. Looked like he was coming in
  20. Wait are they going to bring Sauce into this game? Not great
