  1. Sort of feel bad for Reese. More WAR than either of the others but has lost his job because of dumb s*** like projekshuns and visible talent.
  2. This is pure cope but I don't think it's that big of an upset. His offense looks as good if not better than mine on paper, largely because of Vlad. The gap on the P side basically disappeared with me losing McClanahan, Sale, Taillon, Wisler, Pomeranz, and Clippard all during or right before R1 and with Bieber never making it back. I don't really have a juggernaut built around a bunch of Vlad, Soto, Franco types. My team is a random assortment of hired guns. Dinger's 11th place record was largely due to inattention and not a lack of talent. And he got lucky with very few injuries during the playoffs save for the typical spattering of broken arms.
  3. the mistake had many layers. the first one was not waiting out Realmuto / jumping at McCann.
  4. Remember when the Mets paid James McCann (0.7 WAR) $41M instead of paying Realmuto $115M (3.9 WAR)? If they win tonight they will be 3 back of the WC and 5 back of the division. One decision the difference?
  5. The problem with the playoffs is that every game all of a sudden feels and sounds like Sunday Night Baseball.
  6. lol @ the Yankees having Gary Sanchez catch a rookie like Schmidt
  7. Are we sure baseball reference isn't wrong? I just don't even believe it. How could that be true.
  8. This is unbelievable
  9. Updated race chart with opponent difficulty. Now with a second column for results. I changed my mind on Seattle and added them this weekend after they won two in a row. -Oakland off to a bad start in one of their easy stretches -Very important BOS-SEA series begins -Toronto's tear looks beautiful in green -Toronto of course entering a crucial series. I mean they all are... but if Toronto can somehow hold serve through these two TB series they will be laughing. Most of these other teams have some easy opponents while Toronto faces the nerdy juggernaut. -Yankees have TEN easy or moderate games in a row after tonight. ELEVEN including tonight.
  10. Have there been any injury updates on Biggio and Espinal? Looks like Biggio played yesterday in the minors. Not that we need them. I'm just curious what the team will do when they are back.
  11. wait, you actually watch the games? that only allows bias to creep in, you know.
  12. So you legitimately think Matz is better than Ryu, on talent, and you would start Matz over Ryu in a playoff game? Alright maybe you're not smarter than that. Carry on.
  13. You're smarter than this.
  14. He's a solid 5th but he is the worst of the five by projected FIP and ERA. Not a massive gap between him and Manoah. Related point - Ryu might be at a talent inflection point that projections don't appreciate. He's been pretty s***** for a while. Is this him declining into a SP4 soft tosser for the rest of his contract?
  15. Yeah I have the tiebreaker either way. I think our first tiebreaker is h2h and looks like I beat you week 7. Flipping runs and then pulling ahead in holds is enough
  16. You think it's a good idea to mess with the players' regular schedules and then have the team's worst starter (Matz) face the Rays instead of Baltimore?
  17. I mean the rotation has three lefties, you absolute genius
  18. I can still win. I might need multiple vulture wins though, lmao
  19. Alrighty Merryweather can have this one. He needs the practice
  20. Yeah Richards should be fine for a second inning
