  1. So we have to cut down to 12, then there is a NPD, then after that it is a full dynasty with no cuts ever?
  2. Baz Brujan
  3. lol @ the Rays getting these calls when Ray couldn't get calls earlier in the game that were clipping the zone. can't wait for this ump report
  4. Annoying results so far. Ray was a bit off + getting squeezed.
  5. it's a slow draft within the app
  6. The hypothetical ignores the necessary trade. By the way, it would not take Bichette, Moreno, and Martinez; when teams trade for huge contracts they tend to give up low-end players and provide a bulk package of parts that might have fallen off their roster anyway. See the Stanton trade. The seller's primary motivation is getting out of the contract and there tends to be very little in terms of buyers who are willing to take on the money.
  7. NOTES - Boston and Oakland are suddenly streaking - Yankees in a tailspin, death watch, fire everybody and sell the team - Boston's next 5 games are crucial because it's a cakewalk for them after that. If they win 3 of their next 5, one of the WC spots is likely for them. - A Yankee sweep of Boston would make things very interesting. A Boston sweep or 2 of 3 vs NYY could put Toronto in a position to step on New York's neck - Seattle is 2 games back of Oakland. They are going to put up a fight. It kind of seems like OAK and SEA will beat each other up and then both miss out. - Tampa just had to put Kittredge on the IL. They will throw Baz and Rasmussen, two tough arms, against Toronto... followed by Wacha who is how do you say not a tough arm.
  8. someone will need to email blast the league with a big update. Here is the draft date, process, and rules. Here are the league rules going forward. etc.
  9. Change the question then. Tell me when to "stop" i.e. tell me the point where the Tatis Jr. contract becomes so big you would not take it. a) 13 yrs/$338.3M [26.02 AAV] (the current deal after 2021; under contract through his age 35 season.) 14 yrs/$420M [30.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 36) c) 15 yrs/$450M [30.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 37) d) 16 yrs/$480M [30.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 38) e) 14 yrs/$490M [35.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 36) f) 15 yrs/$525M [35.00 AAV] (now under contract through age 37)
  10. Yes, in a second. a) Tatis is very different than Stanton, physically Acquiring Stanton when he was 22/23 years old would have been pretty okay
  11. Ah man if only the Padres were competently run and their handsome GM didn't purge most of their depth in an extended series of blockbuster trades. It's only going to get worse for the Padres going forward, I think. Many of the assets they threw into the wind are yet to debut or mature into MLB players.
  12. And he threw a ton of pitches today too lmao
  13. I dunno, if he sticks in the rotation it's also a two start week from Baz. Toronto might rough him up but his MiLB numbers were fantastic. risk reward. if you are the dog, do it.
  14. Depends on the context. If you need the counting stats then he's the best kind of stream imaginable.
  15. I think Toronto is clearly better than Tampa at this moment in time. Tampa's rotation is down bad. Toronto - Houston - White Sox is a pick 'em. All very comparable. Lineups that are deep 1 through 6 or 7, good rotations.
  16. Take a roster snapshot TODAY and Toronto is arguably the best team in the AL. Right?
  17. He looks to be in real pain whenever he swings
  18. It might be the worst trade in baseball history. I think IN CONTEXT it was awful and that makes it so much worse than stuff like FTJ for James Shields, because in that context Tatis was just a lottery ticket.
  19. Nelson Cruz has been pretty disappointing as a Ray.
  20. These things seem to go one of two ways a lot of the time: - the rookie can't throw strikes or finish his pitches (nerves) and doesn't last long - the rookie has nerves of steel and the hitters are screwed because they've never seen him
  21. That's like, the whole point of using it in the minors first
