Jonn started calling people / mods pussies and cucks. That's what got him banned.
His post was deleted because the first few paragraphs were expressing blatant political opinions on vaccine policies. I didn't have a problem with his personal anecdote on its own but he used it to support a political opinion. His post did not cause the ban - his vulgar response to the post getting deleted caused his ban.
This thread is a good education tool for the rules around here.
Buck Martinez not getting vaccinated and it interfering with his ability to do his job is fair game because it is baseball + politics intertwined. It's still a topic about the Blue Jays / baseball.
Example of posts that are legal:
- The OP
- "True, unless it’s Buck at the stadium. The broadcast would be dramatically better with Buck at home without a headset, microphone or monitor, regardless of his vaccination status."
- "Buck is old school in every single way lol"
- "The better story is Kylie Irving in NY who can’t play home games. Interesting to see what will give there. Imagine if a Jay star did that"
- "The Jays have needed to move on from Buck and Pat for years now. If this is what finally does it, then great."
Example of posts that are not legal:
- Jonn's deleted post. Note that it had nothing to do with baseball or Buck and was just an opinion on vaccine passports.
- "Lol of course it's floriduh...buck is stupid"
There will always be gray area posts no matter where the line is drawn. Mods will miss things. I hope you all understand why the mods are hesitant to flash-delete little quib posts like DigitalRock's, even though it was obviously political and could have been deleted. It remains in the best interest of the board to not have political postings because it ruins fun and enjoyable discussion.
Also, STFU Spanky.
Closing thread so my soap box post is the last one.
