  1. Rays relying on the pen heavily today means they will ride Wacha hard tomorrow. Not great.
  2. Okay here is the Rays taking it easy on New York. Resting Baz. Hopefully Rays pen can limit any damage.
  3. I think he's lined up for it but I'm not 100% sure. If they clinch today then obviously they won't
  4. Yeah same. Sale vs Corbin is like an 80% win prob for Boston. And Josiah Gray is struggling so unless he has a random great game (possible because he's talented) then Boston probably sweeps. Meanwhile, Yankees are in for two tough games.
  5. Quite an age gap between this kid and Robinson. Get him on the juice!
  6. They both hurt. Bats chokes against Yankees pitching in two of the games and the arms didn't execute. Both losses vs. the Yanks were very annoying.
  7. The quote looks fine in hindsight. The team turned it around and are playing meaningful games into the last series.
  8. Probable Pitchers Matz vs. ???bullpen game maybe??? Manoah vs. Means Ryu vs. Bruce Zimmerman Gonzales vs. Jose Suarez Flexen vs. Jhonathan Diaz Anderson vs. Reid Detmers Rodriguez vs. Josh Rogers ???? vs. Josiah Gray Sale vs. Corbin * Ohtani could pitch against Seattle but I am seeing these other names on the probable pitcher websites so maybe he won't be. ** Detmers I could see stealing a game from Seattle *** Unclear who is lining up for Boston in the middle of their series. Hard to see a tough game for Boston. Maybe Corbin will have a revival, or Gray will steal a game. **** Means is good but the Baltimore series will be more about the bats. I'm sure Baltimore will score a bit, Toronto needs to pound their pitching. sweep and hope to get lucky! the reasonable expectation is that every team will go 2-1
  9. to be fair, Jays have some cheap hits and the Yankees have 4 absolute bombs
  10. Just sitting fastball up and all of those were homers on fastballs up.
  11. where is the "but he was cruising" crowd tonight?
  12. The Mariners look like geniuses for the deadline deals that got them roasted. Since the deadline: Graveman: 0.2 fWAR Chargois: -0.2 fWAR Montero: 0.1 fWAR Toro: 0.7 fWAR Anderson: 0.7 fWAR Smith: 0.5 fWAR Castillo: -0.2 fWAR It's like two whole wins, right there. I know they gave up a couple of prospects too but remember they got absolutely eviscerated by the media and their fans for trading Graveman.
  13. They will rest Cruz for sure. And then you might see some of their better relievers getting a break, which could really impact the games.
  14. Very true. They'll give guys a day or two off, particularly Cruz and older guys, but they can't just sit them all.
  15. Jonn started calling people / mods pussies and cucks. That's what got him banned. His post was deleted because the first few paragraphs were expressing blatant political opinions on vaccine policies. I didn't have a problem with his personal anecdote on its own but he used it to support a political opinion. His post did not cause the ban - his vulgar response to the post getting deleted caused his ban. This thread is a good education tool for the rules around here. Buck Martinez not getting vaccinated and it interfering with his ability to do his job is fair game because it is baseball + politics intertwined. It's still a topic about the Blue Jays / baseball. Example of posts that are legal: - The OP - "True, unless it’s Buck at the stadium. The broadcast would be dramatically better with Buck at home without a headset, microphone or monitor, regardless of his vaccination status." - "Buck is old school in every single way lol" - "The better story is Kylie Irving in NY who can’t play home games. Interesting to see what will give there. Imagine if a Jay star did that" - "The Jays have needed to move on from Buck and Pat for years now. If this is what finally does it, then great." Example of posts that are not legal: - Jonn's deleted post. Note that it had nothing to do with baseball or Buck and was just an opinion on vaccine passports. - "Lol of course it's floriduh...buck is stupid" There will always be gray area posts no matter where the line is drawn. Mods will miss things. I hope you all understand why the mods are hesitant to flash-delete little quib posts like DigitalRock's, even though it was obviously political and could have been deleted. It remains in the best interest of the board to not have political postings because it ruins fun and enjoyable discussion. Also, STFU Spanky. Closing thread so my soap box post is the last one.
  16. Buck Martinez is Blue Jays relevant so the discussion about him as it relates to vaccination choice is fair game and interesting.
  17. Tampa might rest some regulars but it's not like any of the players are going to turn the switch off right before the playoffs and then try to turn it back on. They'll play hard
  18. Jonn's first three paragraphs were a pointed opinion on a political policy (vaccine passports). It's not that complicated. I didn't notice the quoted post.
  19. For the record: Jonn's post was too political so it was deleted but that's not why he was banned.
  20. It's probably a team or MLB requirement. They can't force every player to get vaccinated because of the union but network employees like Buck have no such power and he is subject to the policies of Rogers etc.
