  1. I think there is a chance that Katoh is actually just a productive major league bench player. Little bit of power, speed, and defensive utility. Minor league numbers are interesting enough last two seasons. I see the light.
  2. the projection system was named after him, literally him
  3. anyone can be a CF if you just put them in CF
  4. he was here all along, right in front of our faces the lefty IF/OF we needed for the bench lmao
  5. 1. invalid, too long ago 2. sure 3. less valid - those become irrelevant over time 4. too passive 5. any reference to Pat Tabler = downgrade
  6. I dunno man, 3 man bench with expanded April rosters just seems weird.
  7. he's fine?
  8. The future of CF is George Springer
  9. It's a tough archetype to find especially right now. In house, Biggio could do that role... if say Jose Ramirez took his job
  10. left handed hitting IF/CF
  11. Most minor league deals for veterans have these opt outs "if not on 40 man roster on april 4 player can terminate contract" Jays were probably 99% sure he would opt out when they decided not to add him I guess you can think of it like a joint decision because sometimes the veterans DON'T opt out and they actually report to AAA
  12. I guess he was just here as an insurance policy in case people got hurt sucks to be Greg
  13. But he looks like a horrible tweener - not enough D to actually catch and not enough stick to actually play DH/1B. ZACK COLLINS IS A CLASSIC TWEENER
  14. I am surprised, not gonna lie
  15. Teams get incentive draft picks if they roster a rookie all year and that guy finishes high in MVP voting or first or second in ROY voting or makes the first or second all star team. That's what I saw on twitter at least!
  16. I think Collins is like a first percentile pitch framer, about as bad as it gets. The projection systems are still buoyed a bit by his prior MiLB indicators but this is a guy who has failed spectacularly to acclimatize to MLB pitching and then demonstrated those flaws even in AAA in 2021. As usual, the challenge with projection systems is figuring out when exactly it's appropriate to inject your human brainpower. He is projected for a wRC+ between like 80 and 97 depending on the system. In 2021 he had a 90 wRC+ and was worth -0.7 fWAR. I just can't appreciate him as anything more than an emergency catching option who is perhaps good enough to: - literally catch most pitches thrown by an MLB pitcher - run into the odd home run
  17. A good sign for the MLB roster construction but don't expect Collins to ever help the MLB team.
  18. I don't remember much about Hendriks back then but the pieces I do recall portray him as a very very average reliever, someone utterly replaceable. Good but not amazing velo.... and his 3 years following the trade kind of support that. If you look at ERA, haha.
  19. stott for sure moniak is nothing but honestly, neither guarantee you can find better players
  20. Lamet might close some massive injury or performance risks on their depth chart
  21. oof thats nothing?
  22. it's fine here it's the bridge to off topic fantasy
  23. wow Justin Upton DFA'd. I am surprised because Jo Adell sucks.
