  1. These are pulled from Eno's spreadsheet he keeps running for stuff+ You can find a link if you just google eno sarris stuff+ it will be buried in all of his articles
  2. Zero interest in Quintana. I'm surprised he's still in MLB but his numbers are a bit better than I expected, he must have figured something out to stay alive. But I can't see how he would really help a playoff team like Toronto unless they lose multiple SPs to injury and they just need a live arm to eat innings...
  3. immediately it is already projected
  4. Yeah that's stuff+, not pitching+ Pithing+ also factors in command+ Basically, once you get a big enough sample it's better to look at pitching+ I posted all the numbers above Stuff+ / Command+ / Pitching+ 100.1 103.7 106 COBB 120.2 101.3 107 DARVISH
  5. xSTATS will be a bit f***y until half way through the year when they are readjusted for the new offensive environment. I have heard.
  6. I just text Eno he tells me
  7. Cobb's stuff+ is way up and his command+ is better than Yu's. Their pitching+ (total measure) is very close. Stuff+ / Command+ / Pitching+ 100.1 103.7 106 120.2 101.3 107 I think all these numbers are pretty stable now for 2022 And Cobb is a year younger and has been better by DIPS since the beginning of 2021.
  8. Stuff+ baby His stuff is different
  9. I think Cobb actually might be... should be... better than Yu Darvish. In any league.
  10. Since May 27th wRC+ 163 (#1 in MLB) Pull% 42.8 (#5 in MLB) Oppo% 22.9% (#23 in MLB) GB% 43.4 (#14 in MLB) Hard hit% 36.7 (#3 in MLB) babip .359 (#1 in MLB) So they have been pulling the ball more, going oppo less, and hitting the ball on the ground a bit less. They are hitting the ball even harder, relatively speaking. HR/FB (16.7%) is 4th in MLB in that span whereas before it was 10th in MLB (11.7%). Still hitting grounders too much IMO and probably getting a bit lucky during this stretch with BABIP. Conclusions: 1. Pulling dat ball is working at turning some of the flyball outs into dingers 2. Keep mashing - try to murder the baseball almost all the time 3. The offense could be even better if we could get Vlad to stop hitting groundballs Since May 27th the only hitters with groundball problems are Vlad (54.7%) and Springer (54%). I am not concerned about Springer there because that's way above his career mark and it's a small sample, but maybe he is a bit tired and cold use a few off days... Springer also has the highest pull% on the team since May 27th which might be why you haven't noticed the groundballs as a bad thing; he has been pulling hard grounders for hits and doubles often enough. You really notice groundball issues when guys are hitting into double plays up the middle like Vlad always does. Kirk and his 248 wRC+ in that stretch has the lowest GB% on the team. He also has a good pull% since May 27th at 44.2% and four pulled homeruns. It is safe to say that the difference between Kirk as a good hitter and Kirk as a great hitter is probably as simple as him figuring out when to get sluggy and pull a ball in the air with authority. I mean he can poke things up the middle and the other way in his sleep but that doesn't get chicks.
  11. in 2018 and 2019 he had a 16% walk rate with a .190 ISO and he hit 24 HR in 159 combined games this year he has an 18% walk rate but a .113 ISO with no homers in 27 games I am very skeptical that he will be able to maintain an elite walk rate if he keeps failing to demonstrate the ability to hit for power. Teams will challenge him more and more. I think he might have to sell out a bit for some pop, basically. Just a tiny bit. No huge changes. Like the triple last night - first pitch of the PA. How often does CB swing at pitch #1?
  12. I'd be happy if Biggio was just a useful player. .230/.320 with a bit of pop and some defensive use. He doesn't have to be back Team sorely needs a lefty who can provide a good at bat I want them to throw him in CF see what happens
  13. He might be able to play SS a bit but you never see scouts project him as a shortstop. It's always 3B.
  14. Add to Groshans and shoot for Staumont and Benintendi
  15. Yeah they have a mediocre little pitching pipeline now. They aren't a complete pushover team. Rutschman being up will make a big difference once he gets going. In a couple of years there will probably be 2 of Kremer, Akin, Baumann, Wells, Bradish, etc. who turn into really good pitchers.
  16. If Pearson could somehow get built up to just being a ~4 inning pitcher it would or could be a big deal. Pearson for 60 pitches then the bullpen >>>> any depth SP they have
  17. Yeah I dunno. It's not phenomenal. Nick Allgeyer, Trent Palmer in an emergency. Couple s***** guys at AAA like Bowden Francis. I think they are more likely to just piggy back two guys like Pearson and Thornton before giving any of these other sacks of potatoes an extended shot. So: Manoah Gausman Berrios Stripling Kikuchi Ryu (ouch) Pearson + partner AAA/AA guys Maybe they make another Stripling style trade and bring in a good swing man?
  18. Stowers might be okay watch him hit a bunch of dongs
  19. It's funny, other than Judge none of their hitters are having a truly great season. Most of them are just doing okay to good and are on pace for like 1.5 to 3.5 WAR, with the exception of Gallo and Hicks who suck. I think their rotation is a little bit flimsy. Cortes and Taillon have to be getting lucky. Same perhaps for Montgomery. Lots of injury risk across these guys too. If we face them in the playoffs it's a coinflip IMO. Toronto has good enough arms if the SPs are healthy. Gausman-Manoah-Berrios can go toe to toe with their top 3.
  20. Checked in on Kendall Williams - good numbers. In A+ now. But he only got an HM on the Dodgers top prospect list with Fangraphs, which was done one month ago. Depth Starters Jerming Rosario, RHP Braydon Fisher, RHP Jimmy Lewis, RHP Kendall Williams, RHP Rosario sits in the low-90s, will creep into the mid-90s, and has a bevy of decent secondaries. He’s only 20 but isn’t all that projectable and he hasn’t sustained the advanced command he showed on the back fields. Fisher’s stuff has been all over the place, while Lewis’ and Williams’ were both down, with their fastballs hovering around 90 mph in our most recent looks at them.
  21. Probably. Just getting him some reps in case injuries happen?
  22. Corey Dickerson In 2019 their WAR leaders were Biggio, Galvis (switch) and Sogard lolll I guess Smoak fit the role as a switch hitter for a few seasons But yeah if you want a LHB who was here for a few years and looked something like a middle of the order hitter.... Since Delgado left the only real options are like.... Lind, Overbay, and Rasmus?????
