  1. Door #3 is actually Alex Bregman
  2. *worse projections and worse projected defensive value and probably less versatile (isn't a fringe SS and possible 2B/3B more versatile than a fringe CF who can play a corner or 1B?)
  3. Terrible contract the minute it was signed. Hilarious that he didn't even give them one decent year though. The Phillies might just cut him loose tbh
  4. It becomes worth the gamble if you don't have to pay him $100M+ A lot of talk about Joey Gallo and Miguel Sano as negative comps, but not enough consideration of JUST HOW f***ING CLOSE those two were to being stars. Like, this is the Kyle Schwarber tool kit. Dude is 26 Pirates or some other team who have trouble signing big stars should think about this. He's a better fit on a team like that, perhaps, than a team like Toronto, New York, etc. where there will be immense pressure on him to be a star right away.
  5. Yeah the "he will age better" part should only matter if their contacts are similar lengths If Tucker is getting 3 more years then lol
  6. If you pick the Bo side you also get a $10m player like Fairbanks too. Have to be fair
  7. Tucker is not a primo 5 tool player anymore. If he ever was one? His defense and sprint speed are below average. He's a good baserunner despite the poor sprint speed. Bat speed and raw power are not impressive. Arm is average. This is a corner outfielder with declining defense who has an incredible approach and barrel control. He's actually not dissimilar from Bo in terms of total package as both leave a lot to be desired in terms of defense, bat speed, and sprint speed. They just have wildly different plate discipline and approaches plus Tucker is somehow a great baserunner. Tucker may age much more gracefully but I really can't agree that he has way more upside than Bo Bichette. In fact, one could say he's completely maxed out whereas Bo could still develop a better approach and hit more dingers
  8. All of this is true and it is how I felt a couple of months ago but this off-season makes it seem like the payroll can go anywhere so give me Tucker, the better player and safer bet
  9. Merrill Kelly 2/$40m That's the Bassitt market I guess
  10. Brewers got hosed on this trade tonight
  11. Scenarios where they cut or trade Berrios or Santander are too fantastical. At best you can hope for a bad contract swap. Very unlikely to find that fit. If they need to move MLB players because of all the additions, it's much more likely they trade someone the fans like a bit such as Lauer or Lukes or Schneider, and get some value back
  12. Look at his bWAR if you are confused by the price here
  13. Lmao wtf Okay uhhh Wtf dude How much? You can't do stuff like this and then NOT at least sign Bo
  14. Nice trade. Potential Sandlin/Cimber dude but with full control and options.
  15. Not directed at you. Directed at the tweeter who misrepresented Mr. Gonzalez.
  16. What can you even criticize this man for at this point? All I can think of is that modern ticket/stadium pricing has made the product less accessible. On the baseball side, you could criticize the team for not being the class of the league in every facet, but not organization is. You could have pointed to fundamental flaws with developing MLB hitters, or instructing MLB hitters, or developing pitchers or finding relievers, a year ago but the 2025 season kind of answered a lot of those concerns as the farm blossomed and the MLB team did as well. I dunno man. We are kind of spoiled. Good organization now, good payroll. Good brand. The main way they screw this up is bad contracts.
  17. Alden Gonzalez does NOT say this in his article. Reading comprehension! ORLANDO, Fla. -- If there's one team willing and able to give outfielder Kyle Tucker the $400 million he seeks in free agency, it's the Toronto Blue Jays, according to many of the agents, executives and managers at baseball's annual winter meetings this week.
  18. Jays have the 7th best projected bullpen The Varland trade was a big investment and that is probably their one big reliever addition for 2026 right there. He's as good as Suarez. Really no need for a big signing. Just get someone cromulent, proper depth.
  19. The Braves probably project well, but it's such a risky team. They need to get positive regression from numerous players + have some injury prone guys stay healthy + keep Sale/Schwellenbach/Strider/Reynaldo healthy and productive. Strider got destroyed last year and Schwellenbach had a piece of bone fall off his elbow lol.
  20. After $16M for Raisel Iglesias, 36 year old with a 97 Stuff+ and 0.8 WAR projection
  21. The Ninja strikes again!
  22. I doubt they would buy high(ish) on a guy who finally broke out as a reliever, just to thrust him back into some kind of swing role If they want Keller I would guess it's just to be a leverage RP My guess is that the Jays are now shifting gears and they will wait for someone to come to them, out of two buckets. Good RP bucket and Good Bat bucket. Bucket 1: Keller, Weaver, Fairbanks, Seranthony, Suarez, etc. Bucket 2: Bo, Bregman, Bellinger, Tucker...
  23. Moreno: Hasn't been able to stay healthy Hasn't produced more than 2.7 WAR (#1 being a factor) Kirk: Star level 2025 with 4.7 WAR 4+ WAR projection Signed a very team-friendly extension Is only 15 months older than Moreno Fan favourite Oozes soft skills - leadership, handling pitchers, etc. Varsho: 3.1 WAR in 2024 Played like a 4+ WAR player in 2025 (pro-rated) Safe to close the books on this one. Moreno still has his arb years of control with Arizona but the decision to stick with Kirk and the eventual team-friendly extension wipes that out.
  24. I fully support the bumping of any and all of the threads from this era Certain posters deserve to be tarred and feathered forever based on how they treaded Ross around 2023/2024
