  1. This all seems excellent Big takeaways: - new outfield wall dimensions! see how the bullpens kind of bulge out - the 500 level update seems excellent since the current bank of empty seats is just wasted space - the website says stay tuned for infield upgrades in the coming months
  2. honestly who gives a f*** about grass anymore? i don't see why it's a big deal yeah it would be nice but it's a domed stadium and the new turf they have seems really good, you barely notice it's not grass anymore
  3. All valid I thought McClanahan has some type of injury history but I am googling it now and see absolutely nothing
  4. horrible saddest f***ing s*** of the year
  5. I dunno. He is better and projects a bit better but there is the whole "devil you know" thing and Manoah is such a good fit here. Also, maybe McClanahan with his velo and delivery has a bit more injury risk? Manoah is a pretty free and easy pitcher.
  6. no lies the JP Ricciardi teams are what got me into baseball i hated the sport as a spectator until like 2004-2006 or so
  7. Man Bowden Francis getting destroyed in AAA is a bigger deal (detriment) for the 2022 Blue Jays than people think. Peep the Fangraphs pre-season report: That guy would sure be nice to have this season.
  8. I look dumb 40% of the time You look dumb 50% of the time
  9. I dunno. If he does more stuff that looks like trolling he's gone, sure.
  10. Just a weird decision by the new skipper to use Richards. Cimber and Garcia were both available. Phelps and Mayza too, they only threw 3 and 6 pitches the day prior. So with Romano, Cimber, Garcia, Phelps, and Mayza all usable why use Richards in the 5th inning of a close game in a high leverage spot? Makes no sense. Even pulling Gausman is a questionable move. It was Albert Pujols. Yeah Guasman wasn't on his A game but it's Albert Pujols vs. Kevin Gausman. It should not matter at all that Pujols managed to poke a couple of hits off him earlier in the game. So this is decision #2 that was bad by John S. First one being when he used Banda in that one run game.
  11. Michael Harris looks good. Spanky looks dumb.
  12. fun fact he has 0.5 fWAR in 94 games
  13. Seems like a decent return IMO Benintendi is a ~3 WAR player so 60 games of a 3 win player isn't going to fetch the moon A comparable package from Toronto might be say Hayden Juenger + Dahian Santos + Sem Robberse
  14. K-BB numbers look *fine*. You never know what guys are working on. He was also starting... maybe the logic here is that he's just a reliever so make that decision now and see if he looks like an MLB reliever in AAA at the moment because that could help this year. They were handling Juenger in a fascinating way. Starter's schedule but he would only ever pitch 2-4 innings. Seems kind of weird. Maybe that's thought of as a "safe" way to develop relief prospects? Like, you don't actually want them throwing 100% max effort innings and back to back days and all that stuff until they are in the show?
  15. Adam Dunn hitting exactly 40 home runs 4 seasons in a row is one of the best baseball things ever
  16. When Adam Wainwright is getting calls three inches off the plate... Game over lol
  17. Okay Benintendi doesn't suck but he's a super boring player that might give the Yankees like 0.6 extra projected WAR. Looks like a couple of the arms they gave up are actual prospects Fair trade but it doesn't make the Yankees any scarier
  18. Benintendi sucks
  19. They show them on baseball reference on the player minor league page
  20. so hard to see them adding any position player at all
  21. The 2006 Toronto Blue Jays were #2 in wOBA but #12 in MLB in runs scored. Go figure.
  22. yeah i do this every week some loser here laments the loss of rowdy tellez i pull up his fg page and it's meh he might even make toronto a worse team if still here all things considered
  23. They do say in the text that Ohtani seemed impossible to place and they don't think either team would trade one for the other
  24. well the general point stands basketball, 1 elite player on his own can still make you a contender foosball 1 elite QB can have a massive impact in soccer i guess 1 elite player has a bit less impact because of the nature of the game, they just cannot touch the ball the whole time similar for hockey because of shift lengths and there being 4 lines... baseball though, has to be the sport where 1 elite player has the smallest individual impact
  25. man remember Jesse Litsch has to be one of the most random Blue Jays careers 24th round pick from a state college fat ginger inexplicably good from day 1, a command artist sort of, good in MLB at age 22 and 23, then gets like a flesh eating disease from a cortisone shot or something and his shoulder falls to shreds. Towers and Chacin just made me think of him.
