Call in LF hitting 9th. Kike to CF. That's a big defensive downgrade in CF. Let's see if anything drops in tonight around Kike.

He has to be over Banda and Treinen so I think Roberts is going to go to Wrobleski, Henriquez, and Sheehan tonight in between Snell and Sasaki What you are hoping for if Henriguez come in is command issues

Yeah it's tough for me to bench Lukes, I just believe he can solve every at bat for some reason

The lineup can stomach IKF and Gimenez at the bottom but adding Straw to that pile is just too much slap hitting slop. Barger runs like a bodybuilder but he's probably not as bad out there as say Teoscar Hernandez

Pages is a +12 CF I fully support any move that takes him off the field and replaces him with some guy who has not played meaningful CF innings in a while

They have been toying with Alex Call more the last two games Justin Dean is just a pinch runner. Hyeosong Kim has no PA all playoffs. Miguel Rojas? Willingly starting Kike Hernandez and expecting his Postseason Pixie Dust to be a real thing is wild, in the year 2025. Dave Roberts should put Smith or Teo 2nd and drop Mookie to 6th, to be honest.

If Yesavage has his splitter, it will be like the Dodgers are seeing him for the first time. Fingers crossed!

You CANNOT go Straw over Barger. Straw has been hopeless against this higher quality pitching. Schneider vs Lukes is interesting, dunno how I would go on that. You platoon them all day every day on paper but in the playoffs, DS has had limited PAs, Lukes has been fantastic, and Snell can pump velo up at DS which is a problem. I would feel weird about France getting a start.

100% Part of what is making Bassitt effective is probably that other teams did not do a whole preparation binder on Setup Man Chris Bassitt Definitely we could see his effectiveness collapse if they see him more and more Bassitt game 1 - Kike, Muncy, Teoscar, Smith game 3 - Kike, Edman, Teoscar game 4 - Kike, Call, Ohtani, Betts, Freeman, Smith JS and staff need to be charting out the number of matchups dudes have had against specific hitters, and I am sure they are. Varland is a bigger concern than Bassitt, and Fisher is surprisingly a possible issue. Batters Faced World Series Lauer - 24 Varland - 15 Fisher - 15 Bassitt - 13 Hoffman - 11 Seranthony - 10 Flu - 8 Little - 6 Hoffman and Seranthony and the LHRP are the dudes tonight. Lauer likely not available of course, but who freaking knows.

Bassitt is probably saying he is good for an inning tonight, and he probably should be. I don't really know if the three days in a row thing matters. It matters for normal relievers because they go out there and air it out every night. We have no idea what Bassitt's exertion was on individual pitches last night or the night before. In a normal start the dude will have 4 or 5 up-downs and throw 15-20 pitches in 5 or 6 consecutive innings. So in relation to that, 8 pitches on a Monday, then 20 with one up-down on a Tuesday, and then one inning on a Wednesday, should not be problematic at all. BUT if he was actually airing it out last night, it could be an issue. Hopefully he's not even needed. I mean they have Hoffman, Seranthony, and Fisher rested now, and Fluharty can go again since he only threw 4 pitches. Trey 5.1 innings, Fluharty 0.2, to Fisher to Seranthony to Hoffman ball game.

Yeah I thought for games 1 and 2 there might be a day-of market dump, but no chance for game 6 or 7 might be $3000+ for nosebleeds

Exactly I don't know about the Barger-Straw one though. Yes, it increases their chance of scoring a bit in the top of the 8th but not astronomically. And it's a tie game so there is a decent chance it goes to the 10th or 11th and Barger comes up again. And the gulf between Barger and Straw at the plate is IMMENSE, like 50 points of wRC+

still can't believe IKF did not make it to third base on that 9th inning single off Freeman's glove I know it was a weird play but mannnnnnn f*** you you little rat s*** running the bases well is supposed to be one your only redeeming qualities like wtf even happened i guess he froze when it went off Freeman's glove loser loser loser why is he on this team omfg

I was thinking this last night You are going to let a guy go 4 for 4 with 7 walks or whatever in one game? At some point you need to just throw 100% fastballs at his hands. You need to make him uncomfortable and if you hit him so what. There is no way to win the series if he is that locked in and you walk him every time. The only reason the game went on so long last night is that Mookie Betts sucks. He's Ernie Clement now, on a $365M contract and trying to protect Ohtani.
