  1. Bass is a free agent in 2024. Richards is controllable in 2024. Final arb. Cimber - same as Richards. If nobody gets hurt, and guys with options like Pop and Cimber pitch well... maybe Anthony Bass gets cut this season.
  2. Watched every game. He looks fantastic. Command on point, pitches crisp. Don't really give a s*** about some random clutch singles given up. He missed his spot by like, two inches on some of those singles.
  3. It's also the Dodgers... so good chance pitching depth will also be a factor in him never really getting a chance there to be an MLB SP.
  4. Early bullpen opinions: Romano - Elite Mayza - looks sharp to me Garcia - looks great to me. unlucky with a HR or two. Swanson - wait and see. he looks effective but command is not there. Pop - wait and see. some signs of improvement but I'm not on board yet. Richards - seems the same. inconsistent repertoire, cannot really trust him. Bass - looks like s***. FA velocity is noticeably down... uh oh. Cimber - looks like s***. suddenly can't throw strikes. he can probably sort it out though.
  5. Transit / transportation from outside Toronto proper is a big deterrent. The GO train is like $25 round trip from Oshawa and isn't exactly fast. It's a pretty big turn off, especially when the alternative is 4K HD at home + all the comforts of home. I feel like, as a non-Toronto person near Toronto, I would go to a lot more games if the transit or traffic situation was better.
  6. not really a fan of that arm action
  7. Omg stfu this ruined my day
  8. I have no f***ing idea what they will do But once that K rate is mostly stable, it becomes an opportunity cost question
  9. I guess it's over for Brandon Belt. Yeah it's early but he has the worst K% in baseball for players with 40+ PA. He has not put one good swing on a baseball this year in 11 games. He is 35. In a week or two you have to consider cutting him loose.
  10. Is it notable that Biggio is not starting against a RHP? Maybe not. I guess it's not a pure platoon. Lukes gets the start at his expense though, which is interesting.
  11. IIRC most posters hated the return. I remember defending it, because I am a front office apologist. Many wanted one of the Mets' infield prospects at the time (Gimenez, Mauricio, Vientos...). It was an underwhelming return especially considering that Stroman was one of the best piece available that deadline and Toronto decided to flip him to a non-contender for some backend top 10 prospects. It didn't work out for anybody. I think Stroman ended up sitting out the Covid season so the Mets really only traded for 11 starts from him, haha. His 2021 with NYM was the result of him accepting the QO, no? The trade ended up bad for Toronto, but the Mets didn't get much value out of Stroman anyway, and the Jays were able to spin SWR into Berrios who was okay at first but then they f***ed that up by extending him right before he turned into a pumpkin. A string of sadness. SWR still has a chance to make it though.
  12. Marcus Stroman is off to a great start He has never had a FIP or an xFIP of 4.00 or greater
  13. Haven't been yet this year but I don't think they are touching those seats until next offseason by field level outfield I mean the seats in foul territory down the LF/RF lines
  14. field level outfield are horrendous at Rogers Centre. far from the action and the seats don't even point at home plate. 500 level near the infield, on the railing = good value 200 level somewhere along the baseline, on the railing = good spot
  15. I dunno man. You sound pretty middle class and it sounds like you feel like you can't afford to sit in the lower bowl most of the time. cheers!
  16. How much money do you make and when you go to games where do you sit? lol
  17. Do "average income" people really sit in the lower bowl right now though? For the most part I see middle class people do that only rarely. Like, birthday present tickets or something. Most of the time the middle class family tries to sit in field level outfield seats, or somewhere along the baselines in the 200 level. Or in the outfield. And the poor college aged people or working class boozers sit in the 500s.
  18. I agree. He looks shell-shocked.
  19. The 2023 As might be the worst MLB team I have ever seen.
  20. worst in K rate worst in BB rate worst in HR rate is f***ing hilarious
  21. I'm not even sure he has the stuff of a consistent #3 SP. His Stuff / Location numbers so far this year make him look more like.... Brad Keller or something.
  22. AL East with more over .500 teams than the rest of the AL Probably stays that way all year haha
  23. So... unlucky the meat of the order came up in the 8th? lol
