  1. Is that the hamate bone or the other side of the wrist? Probably will be a short absence but then nuke his power for 3 months
  2. Parsons definitely not making the squad
  3. No, you have to phone people and stuff. We would be hopeless
  4. Devin Williams To Miss Roughly Three Months With Back Fractures wtfffffff
  5. I guess. They're worse though, and burning good prospects to get cheaper and slightly worse. They could have gone about this differently.
  6. Out: Soto Grisham Zavala Iriarte Steven Wilson In: Cease King Randy Vasquez Jhony Brito Kyle Higashioka
  7. Thorpe, Iriarte, Savala, and Steven Wilson Seems like a good package
  8. long time ago I guess 2015? They had Dickey, Buehrle, Estrada, Stroman (RIP), Hutchison, traded for Price, tried Sanchez in the rotation (don't remember why he came out, injury?), and had Matt Boyd and Daniel Norris as good looking prospects to debut. In 2017 they really started dumpster diving for depth. I think Sam Gaviglio got 30 starts one year haha.
  9. I don't really care about his spring results. He was decent with LA. He was decent in Buffalo once demoted. His velo is way up this spring as it was in Buffalo. baseball is not rocket science. it's reasonable to think that he would be way better in MLB than we have seen so far in a Jays uniform.
  10. He's a horrible agent.
  11. I don't think many/any think the rotation depth is GOOD. It's just... a few months ago a lot of people thought it was HORRENDOUS. And now because Francis, White, Parsons, Tiedemann have shown a bit in spring, and Yariel is now throwing, some of us just think it's kind of OKAY. Like, it might be acceptable depth.
  12. That is a weird update. Is the ligament stretched? Coming off the bone? Highly inflamed? It's probably torn and the Yankees are just in denial.
  13. The Gausman concern is basically that he has a setback. If he starts throwing against hitters this week and is fine, no setbacks, then yeah I don't see huge concerns. Maybe he is 5th in the rotation or misses one start. But if he has a setback... that's the actual worry here, lads.
  14. Yeah, Cole's elbow was probably 100% until he saw Daniel pimp that home run. Then Cole probably got a little maddy saddy and did a big Arthur fist clench grrr arrrgh and his ligament popped
  15. It's supposed to be better. Scouts say so. Didn't have it thing spring though, according to the stuff measurements.
  16. He's older than I thought At least he has two option years left. Just needs something to click. Of course the stuff might have been oversold anyway. It's good but it's like, Zach Pop good.
  17. He really got f***ed. Hopefully some team gives him like $5M so he's close to breakeven.
  18. Espinal for Nick Frasso seems fair
  19. Who? Clement and Francis? You... you don't think they should make the team?
  20. Never forget Toronto had Clement and Schneider at the end of 2023 And chose to die with Biggio and Merrifield instead.
  21. I guess in any case "you are worse than Matt Chapman" can be justified as failing to demonstrate sufficient skill. Should been better than Chatt Mapman, bro.
  22. Ah ok. Then MLBTR is wrong. And that clears it up.
  23. No the point here is that this language "for failure to exhibit sufficient skill or competitive ability" appears to be new in this CBA. Someone thought it mattered. I wonder why.
  24. ARTICLE IX—Termination Pay A. Off-Season A Player who is tendered a Uniform Player’s Contract which is subsequently terminated by a Club during the period between the end of the championship season and the beginning of the next succeeding Spring Training under paragraph 7((2) of the Uniform Player’s Contract for failure to exhibit sufficient skill or competitive ability shall be entitled to receive termination pay from the Club in an amount equal to thirty (30) days’ payment at the rate stipulated in paragraph 2 of (1) his Con tract for the next succeeding championship season, or (2) if he has no contract for the next succeeding championship season, in an amount equal to thirty (30) days’ payment at the rate stipulated in paragraph 2 of the Contract tendered to him by his Club for the next succeeding championship season. ^ that is the provision from the CBA I dunno. sometimes lawyers just push for certain language that appears beneficial to their side of things, without a specific reason. Like, the MLBPA might have wanted this "for failure to exhibit sufficient skill or competitive ability" language added this time through the CBA even if they weren't sure how or if it would ever help. Because it doesn't HURT the players. Does it give a player, arguably, the right to grieve the salary entitlement? Who knows.
