    The lineup is only bad if you are a pessimist / don't believe in the players which... you could say about almost every team. It's natural for Jays fans to be cynical about the offense because of how 2023 went but I still think people are overreacting Everyone who underperformed other than Springer is on the good side of the aging curve. Water flows downhill, young players tend to improve or regress positively. Simple concept!

    Yes it can 97 isn't actually a bad grade for a fastball from a starter workload. Closer to average. I think he needs two versions of the slider though, and he needs to throw it more. Needs a sweeper and a bullet slider. Something like that. The fastball still isn't "good" but it's good enough provided the other parts of the arsenal work.

    Eric Pardinho is a super sleeper now I guess Was popping 96 today with various pitches. Heard he hit 100 at the end of the season in Vancouver. Can kind of ignore the ERA in the minors since between COVID and TJS he has barely pitched. Could be someone they just jump straight to the MLB pen at any point

    Plenty more examples of teams misplaying the market Basically every team other than the Cubs and the poor teams f***ed up at least once with an early signing. And the Cubs like to act poor anyway so they probably weren't even being smart

    I don't know everyone is obsessed with this. The market cratered. Most teams didn't play it well. The Jays overpaid for a couple players. Neither contract is a huge obstacle or problem. It is what it is Boo hoo, you bunch of f***ing babies Whine about the IKF contract for the next two years, see if it makes you feel better

    The funny thing with Cole is the SPIN The Yankees are trying very hard to avoid the headline of "Gerrit Cole chooses to try rehab route on damaged UCL" I mean mlbtr literally had the headline as something like Gerrit Cole chooses to rehab.... then changed it to something like Cole not recommended for surgery. Ultimately it's the players choice. I bet the doctors saw a UCL stretched like a piece of spaghetti and recommended surgery. Cole probably wants to try rehab and thinks he's Tanaka, thinks he's special.
