    Yeah some good command guys have started doing this with high two-seamers (bassitt) and sweepers/cutters aiming for the high corners of the zone more often mostly for whiffs right now though, not called strikes

    why would that happen though? command guys famously play with expanded strike zones and some of them live by getting calls one inch off the plate stuff guys who can get swing and miss in the zone might become even more important now

    I am not kidding here I wonder if a lot of the Blue Jays front office people are more concerned about the farm system than they are about the MLB team It is more worrisome in a lot of ways

    It will go both ways. Certain pitches that NEVER get called a strike but clip the zone will get called a strike. That will be s***** for hitters and piss them off. Think, hanging curveballs that clip the top of the zone. But other pitches that OFTEN get called a strike but do not touch the zone will rightly be balls. How many times to the Blue Jays RHB get f***ed over, per game, by pitches away or down and away that are clearly off the plate? Hard to say how it will balance out. The called strike zone is an oval (or rectangle thingy with rounded corners) and the rulebook zone is a rectangle.

    Rossy's offseason plan: - regression would improve the offense by a significant amount. i.e., Vlad, Varsho, Kirk, Springer would pretty much all be better - the pitching and defense would be about as good - IKF would be a contributor - Turner would be a contributor It has not worked! - Vlad and Varsho are better - Kirk and Springer are worse - The defense is still good - The pitching is worse - IKF has been very good - Turner has been very bad And then the wildcard sandbag - Bo Bichette sitting at 0.5 WAR in 200 PA, after three consecutive 4+ WAR years. Your 26 year old star bites the dust right after you tried to toe the line on offense. What a guy punch. It's like Bo is trying to get Ross fired!!!
