  1. Maybe Manoah had sneaky elbow damage for a year and it wasn't really causing any pain until now but it was diminishing his stuff. That would make his sudden decline make more sense.
  2. They made all the lettering like 50% bigger
  3. yeah exactly good acquisition IMO
  4. Burr from spring 94.5 mph 14.7 IVB four seamer (s***) 85.8 mph -1.9 IVB -4.7 HB slider or cutter (call it what you want. it drops more than a typical cutter.) tjStats dude had a 104 on the SL in spring and 96 on the FB so this is a guy with a fringe FB and decent slider/cutter not sure where the AAA k rate is coming from right now but he does just seem like a one trick pony with enough juice to dominate AAA hitters but not enough to be very effective in MLB he has basically ALWAYS been a good MiLB pitcher and his MLB sample is replacement level but not a nightmare
  5. Nats cherry blossoms ones are amazing Cincy Seattle Braves Brewers Padres Rays Are all decent but the Rays and Padres are pretty loud
  6. Yeah it's much better. Still don't care for it but you can see all the design improvements. The Mexican one must have just been an early concept. - number on front - swoosh is not yellow - lettering bigger, better - navy instead of black - skyline colouring and detail better
  7. Here is a fun one! Mookie f***ing Betts 2012, 19 years old, NYPL 71 games and 0 home runs. only 8 2B and 1 3B. That's a .307 SLG. .659 OPS. Yes, he did hit .267 and had a really good K/BB rate. 2013 he figured out how to hit for power, never looked back. MLB in 2014 and immediately a Superstar.
  8. Most agree with you I guess the counterpoint is - sometimes these players click mid-season so it's just premature. There are "fast rising stars" who had bad 20-30 game stretches when they were 18 in rookie ball or A ball. Those stretches just tend to get masked by final season numbers being better. And there are guys who had completely bad seasons... but I would guess that any real Stars who did that probably could blame an injury or so. I have no examples, might look later, but Jose Ramirez had a .674 OPS in AA when he was 20.
  9. he lobbed it up in the air, underhand a fan caught it it was not aggressive or dangerous at all lmao and someone got an awesome souv
  10. Park factors are so tricky Nobody thought it would be anything other than hitters park or neutral but it must be the air resistance or something. Maybe filling in the stands and removing the air gaps between the wall and the seats has created more resistance or headwind? Very bizarre You see this in other parks but they tend to be outside when big buildings are added or removed and it changes how actual wind blows through the stadium
  11. Yeah when GMs are fired mid-season it tends to be in like, August.
  12. Yeah but the issue is he might cling to WC3 competitiveness too long and not sell anybody. A new GM probably looks at the landscape and sells all of Bo, Gausman, Berrios, Garcia, others.
  13. Splatkins will figure it out I trust
  14. Wonder who is out there as a vet SP willing to go to AAA. Syndergaard?
  15. Have to consider it Nobody is AAA is worth more than a spot start If Francis and Y Rod aren't options, then your options are basically Macko (who is on the 40 man) or Espino or some bullpen thing while stretching out Richards
  16. Jays should pick him up and say they support mental health treatment for professional athletes and no team should be so quick to make decisions around a player who is clearly going through an episode of anxiety 106 stuff+ 98 location+; Jorge Lopez is still a perfectly cromulent middle reliever Jays will need SP depth actually since Manoah is having the TJS, I wonder if Lopez with his pitching style could still start and chug innings? It would not be pretty but Buffalo is a f***ing wasteland for SP depth at this point
  17. Fastball was horrendous
  18. Wayne Gretzky? I think you mean Dwayne Jetski
  19. my third best friend is black i think
  20. https://horsehidedragnet.wordpress.com/negro-leagues/ scroll to bottom click download
  21. Josh Gibson career .374/.458/.720/1.178 Josh Gibson MLE .324/.398/.595/.994 If you extrapolate the playing time for MLB season length and use that OPS, he'd be like Stan Musial, Jimmie Foxx, or Mickey Mantle. So still a 100 WAR career and a fantastic, all-time player but *this poster was arrested for being racist*
  22. The positive way to think about Vlad is just that he happened to be overrated as a prospect because scouts are a bit dumb. He smashes the ball but has never been a guy who lifts the ball. You can see that in his swing plane, and you probably could back in the minors if you are a great scout. So the present outcome is very in line with his physical talents and that's fine! Just pretend that when he was a prospect he was a top 25 guy and not a #1 guy. Pretend that this was his scouting report:
  23. 2023 BsR -10.4, rank 27th 2024 BsR -2.1, rank 23rd through 1/3 of the season mild improvement! but less TOOTBLANs for sure
  24. Yeah it's complete bad-faith nonsense and not even remotely entertaining or funny
