    At least there are now enough interesting young players to make the team worth watching. It is legitimately exciting to see how Horwitz, Barger, Schneider do on a game to game basis.

    I like that it gives them the f***ing OPTION of benching Springer. You start with a day or two off per week, then take it from there depending on how Barger does. Hopefully he hits two tanks first game and then Springer just becomes a cheerleader.

    Trout not much trade value but still decent value as a rostered player in most leagues Do the math on 81 games of Trout + 81 games of a replacement-level OF In half a season Trout still probably gives you like 18 homers, 50 RBI, 50 Runs, .260 Then his head falls off at the All Star break so you replace him with Gavin Sheets or whoever the f*** is on the wire and that guy gives you .230 with 8 HR, 30 RBI 30 Runs the rest of the way. That still probably adds up to be a top 20 OF or so. It's like Anthony Santander. And it's better than that if you pluck a good guy off the wire. And it can be much better if Trout has a miracle 140 game season. I still think Trout has some more 40 HR seasons in there. He'll be moving around like Ronnie Coleman at the end of his career but baseball is still light work for him.

    JWB's numbers look pretty good now in A. His K rate is nearly the best in the FSL and the ERA, HR rate, WHIP are all under control. Manuel Beltre has a 117 wRC+ repeating Dunedin with good K and BB numbers but the power isn't there, .273 /.353/.395 Victor Arias is the other interesting Duneden hitter, .259/.371/.380, 20 years old Nimmala is back on the field but demoted to the FCL (rookie) and is hitting .182/.438/.364 tons of Ks and walks only a few games Fernando Perez in Dunedin actually has the best K-BB% in the Jays minor league system, minimum 30 IP Trenton Wallace has surprisingly good numbers in AA while starting Some arm in Dunedin named Kai Peterson has a 43% K rate lol. Lots of walks but that was a 20th round JuCo pick from 2023 draft. Does Dasan Brown still have a chance? Yeah he's still in A+ but 130 wRC+ right now hitting .260/.369/.416 and we know the defense/speed should be great

    Horwitz's plate approach is so solid that it's incredibly annoying that they wasted him in Buffalo for over two months All for a guy who eats ice cream for breakfast and has negative WAR, and a twig who has a fetish for watching strike 3 go by

    total stud with no tools lmao no speed or power but a great plate approach, he's maybe going to end up like a LaMonte Wade or Lars Nootbaar kind of hitter, maybe Nate Lowe watch Atkins' s***** farm graduate an average or better position player every year from Schneider (2023), Horwitz (2024), and the remaining Buffalo bums

    Yeah ofc Gausman would have been a catastrophic blow considering what else has happened with the arms, Manoah dying, Y Rod getting hurt, and all the other depth pitchers being worthless Bo.... I wonder if the Jays would actually be better off right now haha.

    Bo has 0.4 WAR, he might as well have had a season ending injury in spring training Gausman has an xERA over 5.00 and has been brutal at various times stick a fork in Toronto anyway!

    Don Mattingly - did not go to College Hunter Mense - did finish College after his playing career and has a degree in "counseling psychology" Matt Hague - sociology studies in College Guillermo Martinez - Kinesiology and Exercise Science in College Don't see any physicists or mathematicians on the crew. They really need to dump two of these guys, Mattingly and whoever else, and replace them with more progressive individuals.
